gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted January 9, 2017 I noticed that there's some kind of bug going on with Grounding Totem, in that if an enemy uses a Stun spell against you while grounding totem is up, the grounding totem will NOT be consumed. It will just give an "immune" message. Very useful against mobs like Crystal Spine Basilisk that spam you with stun spells. Just throw down your Grounding Totem and you'll be completely immune to their stuns.
Harkonen 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2017 That is intended and how it worked in vanilla. The same goes for a warrior charging you in pvp, GT will absorb the stun but will remain up.
Aerolitos 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 As replied above it is working as intended, any non-direct damage spells such as dots and stuns will not destroy the totem but it will consume the buff it gives you, reapplying it 10 seconds later, as shown in the tool tip..
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 Oh. I'm so used to 2.0 and beyond grounding totem, which only absorbs one spell.

It does only absorb one spell, every 10 seconds. But if the spell doesn't do damage, it can't kill the totem. And you can't put DoTs or debuffs on totems, so it absorbs those without dying. But since it absorbed that spell, you still have to wait 10 seconds before it absorbs anything else again.
