Pet names on transferred character

I have transferred my Warlock over from Nost and I noticed that all my pets are just named "Pet".

This is no big deal with the hunter as they can just rename a pet.  But it seems like my warlock is stuck with all demons named "Pet".

Does anyone know a work-around for this issue?

The only way I found to get a named pet is summon the one you would like renamed and use

/script PetAbandon();

You will have to re-buy all the skill books but he/she will be named. You can keep doing it until you get a name you like then buy all the skills.

Unfortunately this is the only thing you can do at this point.

Since pet/summon names do work when you rename or abandon/resummon them, I suspect this was actually an issue with the database transfer, where they simply forgot to include the pet/summon name field in the database or something like that, and the names don't exist anymore (unless they reimport them from the original database), so it will never be fixed.

Lack of any official comments on the issue is rather disappointing.

Mine ends up with Unknown for a name shortly after logging in.  I just tune it out

I'm glad they fixed this issue, even if all my demons have terrible names now. 

I have also noticed the same problem as Ristra, with my pet name showing up as Unknown sometimes.
