Can't Whisper or Use Channels

I can no longer whisper other players, use any chat channels, or macros and need this fixed immediately, as it's making it next to impossible to organize battlegrounds, work with other players, lead my guild, and sell alchemy goods. I've tried disabling all addons and then deleting my wtf/wdb folders and it hasn't affected this. All these features were functioning as of last night and now they no longer are.

Edit: If I need to contact a GM about this to get it fixed then that's fine, I just need to know how, the in game ticket system doesn't seem to function at all.

Same problem for me an an other member of my guild. We can no more use /W /S and public chat. But we can speak in /G and /p 

No system error message, try to disable all addon and clear WDB folder but not working. 

With that problem we can't find group for quest/dungeon...

 

EDIT : Apparently some say it's automatic to prevent against the gold seller and we just need to wait. But why? I have only answered a person wanting to enter our guild in / w

Same Problem here 

i am unable to use /1  /2  / 3  ......  only /p or /g    to talk .  If i enter or leave the Channel, a Message comes up : Player " Charactername" is currently in Channel.

that occours ca 2 hours ago ...after i  replied a "Gold-Seller"  /w PLEASE DON´T BOTHER ME !!!  .. but he whispered again and again ...

I put him on my Ignore-List and a few minutes later i logged off.  

After rejoining the Game .....the Chat was ,and still is ....... empty.

Weird how this is popping up.  Im not aware of anything that could be written to the config.wtf file to affect chat, but can one of you post your confg.wtf file's contents.

Yep, been having this problem for days as Ellipsea knows. I can use Say/Yell/Whisper/ and Party with no problems. However, any "world" channels such as Trade/General/Guild/Guild Recruitment etc I can see, but can not interact with.

Nah, the .wr on command makes no one be able to whisper you, but guildies and friends.  It doesn't remove your ability to use chat channels.  use .wr off to allow anyone to whisper you.  I'm sure you've all tried leaving all the channels and re-entering them both by name and number?

Ok, as you can see I am running all settings maxxed. As far as Addons I am only running Bartender2, Questie, and Xperl.

Save the old setting, then we both need to delete your file because it has your account name in it.  Try this smaller file.  Its gonna mess up yer fancy monitor settings, but you can fix that in game.  You need to insert your account name where I wrote account name,

Not sure what you mean by both of us needing to delete my file. I just saved my old info above and will cut/paste/replace it now with what you listed and add my account name, which is XXX. Looks like que is about 3K so it will be a bit before we know if any of it worked.

do you play on multiple realms or have multiple accounts on one realm?

I do have a couple low lvl chars on Nost PvE. Nothing above lvl 5-6. Main char is lvl 14 on Elysium PvP. I do not have multiple accounts on one realm. Started to create another the other day to try an install on a separate comp, but nixed that once I realized I'd have to lvl something to 10 just to test chat.

I've had the same thing happen to me a few times now.

One day, it lasted for hours.     But on several occations, I've simply restarted my entire game (All hail the grace period) and been able to talk on all thinkable channels.

Very weird.   Very very weird.

This began around the time when the developers implemented the .WR "solution".

Since launch it has been working without flaws - I've not even encountered the /leave ~ /join <channel> bug.  

I haven't had trouble with SpamThrottle.   Nothing.    But since that day, when they invented .WR, this occasionally appears.

Weird to say the least. I've tried every possible fix talked about both here and all over the net. Including completely deleting the game and reinstalling. Still same issue ever since signing up and starting to play last Wednesday.

I seem to recall something about the game would echo some response to you, when you leave/join a channel.

For instance -> /leave general = You have left [1. General - Elwynn Forest]

and -> /join general = You joined [1. General - Elwynn Forest]

Game doesn't do this any more either.   No response.  Nothing.

ok. so i think it safe to say its serverside and can't be affected client side no matter what, but why it only afflicts some people, who knows?  The getting naked bug only affected people that signed on at a certain time.  The sending bad data to your config file making it imposible to sign on- only got to some few people.

 

I read it before on other servers recently, and the only thing that helped some people was re installing the game, which didn't work for Thanum.  I haven't seen any other solution as of yet.

that is true.  overall chat has been affected in strange ways after .wr was implemented and possibly after realm name change.

What is .wr? Essential for the game or can it be removed?

it's a command they put in place to stop whispers.

.wr on   blocks all whispers except from guildies and friends

.wr off   allows anyone to whisper you.

 Gottcha. Well I just got in game and still no luck. So this definitely has to be something server side. Is there any way to check and make sure I'm not blocked or banned or muted from such channels?  Any way to remove the .wr feature to see if that has an effect or is it within the code?
