Pwnjin 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2017 Just was taming Lupos on Darrowshire, ally NE Spudsmee started taming 10sec after me and he got Lupos not me. After my tame beast ended i still had aggro and hit Lupos twice unarmed, still, Spudsmee's Tame Beast was successful which should be a bug considering the description of a skill if i read it right (i have combat log screens ofc). Ive checked my tame beast on random mobs before that and had WDB folder deleted (successfully tamed a nearby spider just after the accident). Is this all right?
Fogged 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2017 The problem is: the other character should be unable to tame mob in the same time because the spell requires mob's attention during the process (i.e. aggro). http://db.vanillagaming.org/?spell=1515 Quote If you lose the beast's attention for any reason, the taming process will fail For instance, sometimes random healers wanted to help you by healing, which caused hunter to loose mob's aggro and the taming process fails.
Everquest 7 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 I've tamed beasts while they were being feared. You don't need the beast's attention.

But you were still #1 in the aggro list. This way you were able to tame trapped pets (especially for elites). Attention in this case means "aggro". I remember it quite good that I was kinda angry on healers sometimes when they wanted to help me with heals and overaggroed = tame process fails. So I tried to use distracting shot first... Check this thread, for instance: http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=21&mid=110287509654176168&h=50&p=1#12 Couldn't find any video proof though...

Next time, get a friend from the Horde, pref druid or rog, pref 60, to camp the Lupos spawn point for you and kill everyone who approaches within 30 yards. Works very well, I used to level up like that Horde side on a different vanilla server. Had Alliance 60 Hunter in the same zone my Horde was leveling so if same faction tried to mess with my quest mobs or tames, I just hopped on my alliance hunter on the other client and different account, and simply killed everything that moved within 50 yards around my leveling horde. This issue is more pronounced when you play as a Horde, as the Horde is always more popular on PvP servers b/c of OP racials.
