Help a noobie rogue out please

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I am having a blast playing my rogue on Zeth'Kur server, level 17 undead

But I am not very experienced with Vanilla (and some of the stuff I simply forgot since I have not played for a while)

Right now I am leveling as combat, since this is obviously the most efficient spec and this is the spec I leveled in before so it feels quite comfortable and potent for leveling.

But I also enjoy world PvP quite a bit and I am not sure how well is combat spec suited for that. Yesterday me and couple of friends swam to Westfall just to investigate deadmines, do a bit of mining, get the defias face mask for me (which I got yay!). There we were jumped by alliance and did a bit of fighting. And I noticed that they were very easily able to detect me in stealth.

This led me to thinking, would respecing into assasinate/sub tree would be beneficial for world pvp? I understand I might be slower in leveling, but honestly I am in no rush and have no problem sneaking up to mods to pickpocket and ambush them (considering they should have a lower chance of detecting me and ambush should do quite a bit of damage)

I am thinking something like this. First 5 points into Master of Deception. Then go down the Assasination tree and then finish the rest:

Another question. If I go this build I would obviously need to replace my mainhand sword with good daggers.

Which daggers should I look for ( which instances to run) in the brackets from 20-30,30-40..etc

And the last question how would I got about getting my PvP trinket? Do I need to run BGs? Are they working properly on the server? Do I need to collect honor?

And also last question, how much it costs to respec my talents and where can I do that?

Thank you, would appreciate any advice

Same dilema as you. Im 31 now , dont have problems with detecting (yes those who are higher level will detect you), but it isnt very good for pvp. Dont know later if you choose hemmorhage whats goin on but still, not much utility. But if you are going pvp spec, it will be slower and you will deal less dmg but if you find it fun go for it.

I planned to go mostly dungeons now, but I ll see

Im planning something like this

Maybe its good first too get that 5/5 precision cuz hit, then to switch so sub tree.
