It's Chinese New Year, which is extremely important to almost all of China, and very few will play games during this holiday season. The VPN ban timing is just a coincidence, but they are still using VPNs without a problem. So you should expect things to return to normal after the celebrations are over. Bullshit Plenty of westerners played on Christmas and New Years. Why would Chinese New Year make any difference? It's in the news the Chinese gov banned VPNs, and we all know that Chinese players LOVE VPNs because it helps lower their default 500 ms ping.
Lifealert 19 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 Come on you big dummy. Chinese people are just as addicted to WoW as any other westerner (if not more, considering MANY of them sell gold and spam people with gold advertisements) and a holiday would not get in the way of their playtime. There is only one logical explanation for the sudden decrease in Chinese players and that is the government banning VPNs.
