mark4th 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 This is a BAD BAD BAD idea., even the FTC says so. https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/blogs/techftc/2016/03/time-rethink-mandatory-password-changes Also, encouraging passwords like POoih34p38iq is stupid. Passwords like that are trivial to crack and almost impossible to remember. On the other hand a pass PHRASE such as "the cow jumped over the moon" is almost impossible to hack and TRIVIAL to remember. Spamming the chat channels telling people to constantly change their passwords over and over is not just annoying its BAD
Shiamorah 20 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 I definitely disagree with phrase passwords. Most brute force utilities focus on combinations of english words. Best password is nonsense garble with uppercase, lowercase, and symbols. You will see that in literally any business-level enterprise.
Erjh8765 19 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 The OP has a point. Instead of regularly changing passwords, which is a hassle and might lead to issues, just enable 2FA and you will never get hacked. Tougher passwords to crack are pwords like these: kJHK^&%T*09KNjklj^&
smokeit 26 Report post Posted January 30, 2017 I laugh at everyone who gets hacked because they were to lazy to setup 2fa.
