Elysium Questions

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm new to the server and have been playing WoW since 2004. First of all I want to say great job, and this game has a brought back a lot of nostalgia. Anyways I did have a few questions as I have been reading through the forums and hearing things from other players. (Contradicting information)

Questions

- I know this server is following the patch progression, but I also heard that once all content is cleared that it will become a TBC server? Is this true or will there be another set of server(s) dedicated to TBC?

- Will there ever be any servers located in the US, or will that never happen due to legality (C&D) etc. because I am from the East Coast (USA) and have a 160 ping which is playable.

- More of a heads up than a question since I'm only level 8. When I die in Dun Morough (Alliance) I go back to a grave site all the way back at the starting area? I'm not sure if this happens a lot in future areas (Westfall, Redridge, etc.) but it get's a little frustrating (because I die a lot) and have a 60 min CD on my hearthstone just to get closer to where the quest was. (And I remember there being grave sites closer to those areas back in the day ~13 years ago haha)

Otherwise GREAT JOB! :) And the community seems great so far!

A1: What I've heard is TBC servers would be separate, allowing you to copy over your Vanilla character.

A2: Negative on Emulation servers in U.S.

A3: If you die in Dun Morogh's west side, then it's back to the grave site in the starting area. Later when quests move you east you're closer to the other graveyard and get spirited there. I feel ya on that one, but it gets better.

Hello, let's see if I can answer your questions.

I do not know 100% for sure, but I could never imagine them transitioning the current servers into TBC by force -- Some people play here just because it is Vanilla and not TBC. When they hit the end of their timeline, I would imagine the possibility of them creating a new server which is TBC.. At which point you would be able to transfer or copy your character over.

I highly doubt that there will ever be a server in the US, but there's always the possibility of them attempting to. Countries like France can still be pursued similarly to the United States, it is just much tougher.

And Dun Morogh is one of the only places that does that, I felt the same frustration leveling up. There are a couple of others, but Dun Morogh has been the most noticeable for me.

To me this sounds like you rezz at the Spirithealer everytime and run back to where you were alive. Maybe i'm on the wrong Page but you can run to your dead Corpse as a Ghost and rezz there. Your Movementspeed as a Ghost is faster than running alive.

Lol you're kind of right haha. When I determine I can Rez and hearth to get their quicker I do that. But I also run to my corpse 99% of the time. I have been playing since 2004 and that's why I remember (I think) gravesites being closet to kharanos but icould be wrong ha.

I can confirm all of what this great Gronix contributor has said. The only modification I would make is about the TBC server. Nothing has been decided as we are far away from launching TBC. It could stay on the same realm, it could be a new realm. No official answers yet.
