Warlock Soloing

Recommended Posts

I've heard that locks are pretty good at doing solo content. Things have gotten a bit easier for me after getting past lvl 20. though I'm curious if I'm doing it right. I'm using void obviously but if I get 2 mobs on me I'm almost screwed, I end up running out of mana... How much am I supposed to be able to take on? Should I be using any shadow bolts? I notice they are what eat up a lot of my mana.

The higher you get, the more you can handle. But whether or not it is actually efficient to do 3+ mobs at a time depends on the situation. In your 20s you don't have AOE fear, siphon life, etc yet so several mobs at a time is risky.

I would send void out, dot it and wand it. Sbolts will give you too much downtime and also cause you to pull threat off your VW

Are the enchanting wands good enough for this? I haven't seen any wands drop for me yet anyways. I don't have a very big pool of gold yet to buy much.

Yea the starter wand that chanters make will do, but you want to hunt down those fast blue wands to maximize dps ofc.

Where can I find those? Is there a vanilla wow item database?

http://db.vanillagaming.org/ is the most commonly used one, although it is not perfect. Gravestone Scepter from a quest in Blackfathom Deeps is probably the next wand upgrade for you if you're in your 20s.

you will be able to solo 3 mobs of your level easily, but it might take a few levels to grow into it. 2 should never be a problem at 20, just tank 1 with your pet and fear the second. Dot's on both and use the wand, you should have spare mana and have plenty HP to spare after that. Dont use shadowbolt, you get 2-3x (corruption) and 3-4x (agony) the damage per mana with dot's, much more efficient. Even drain life is 2x more mana efficient than shadowbolt, not even counting the life gained.

btw, feared mob's (and humanoids at critical HP level) will run in the general direction away from you. I'm not sure it worked like that in original WoW, but it's very easy to predict and control them to avoid add's.
