Red text that says i have to wait to type

This is the second post i have made about this. I randomly get red text on my screen that says "you must wait 60 seconds before typing again". It has absolutely nothing to do with how  often i have typed something though. It often happens after i haven't typed anything for  45 min while questing solo. I join a dungeon group and attempt to type in party to warn the group about a patrol only to get the same message. Today i logged on and it was literally the first thing i saw only it said it 3 times in a row. This bug is super annoying because it completely limits my ability to interact with other players which is a good 90% of the game.

I have the same issue a few times, I think they're implementing a new anti-spam system, give it a little while.

Same here. People told it'd go away in a couple of hours, but it has been going on for some days now.

3 days this has been going on. Its literally the first thing i see when i log in....also it happens even when i don't type anything at all....i can be questing and it randomly just pops up on my screen. This prevents whispers or even /emote...this isn't anti spam as those just prevent you from posting in chat channels like /world or /trade. This needs some attention asap as when it happens to me over 200 times in a play session i can't actually play. Can't form groups, can't buy or sell...this is quite literally game breaking considering the fact that lots of quests require communication to form groups etc...

Same here, past couple of days I get it as soon as I log in, then after about a minute i get it again. Rinse, repeat. People think i'm ignoring them but i literally can't reply. Lost out on a group because I couldn't answer the guys question and they went with someone else.

No, what you linked is regarding being muted for "spamming chat". The issue here is being muted for NOTHING. As soon as you log in muted for one minute. Then even after not talking muted again. It is a different issue.

What addons do you have installed? Does it also happen when you disable all your addons? People were suggesting it may be addons sending messages to addon channels. Worth a shot.

No this isn't that issue whatsoever....i can literally log in and get 3  messages saying i have to wait 60 seconds to type....then not type anything and get it again...i can go for hours without typing and it randomly pops up...it has nothing to do with a spam filter. Not only that this prevents any typing whatsoever, not just in chat channels. Meaning you can't talk in party...you cant yell...you can't whisper...you can't emote...nothing. Sometimes you can get his back to back and it prevents you from communicating for 15-20 min.

Yeah, it seems to be an addon. I hadn't added any new ones for over a week and this has only just started happening so I didn't jump straight to addons. So it's probably being affected by the new filter. Whelp guess I have to go through each one. Cheers.

If this is the case why would it start suddenly when i have used the same addons up until now without having this issue?

It's the same for me, I just disabled all addons and I don't get muted. I am currently going through them to find out which one is having the issue.

I am aware that it squelchs all communication as I have the same thing happening to me.

In your case it sounds like a bug; try disabling all your addons, Delete the WTF and the WDB folders in your directory and relaunch the game. The downside to this is that it's going to reset any visual UI customization you may have done.

Ok I got it for mine. Kinda annoying because it was literally the last one on the list. "ZepplinMaster" is the one spamming in the background. I disabled it and no longer get muted.
