kjcraig77 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 So i recently decided to start playing again on my laptop. When i first installed the client it worked just fine. About 20 minutes in i decided to change some graphics settings because this laptop is a piece of shit. When i did that and restarted the game it would not launch. I reinstalled it several times, didn't work. I tried to run as admin and it didn't work. Turn off firewalls and that didn't work. Try every single compatibility mode didn't work. Took and zipped the working copy on my desktop transferred it to this laptop and tried that. Still didn't work. With all these issues the process is running the entire time, but the game simple wont launch. Not displaying in my start bar or anything. If anyone has had this issue or know a fix it would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time and help if there is any. FYI : Asus X555LAB signature edition laptop, Windows 10(64bit), 4gb ram, Intel core i3-5010u CPU, and some generic card in it. Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) probably should look at Pottu's Directx thread I'm not sure how changing settings wasn't corrected when you copy pasted and entirely new game file, since just deleting/replacing the WTF folder should have done the trick. Well installing the directx9 made it launch but then when i closed it to try and relaunch i to make sure its working. Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) If DirectX 9 is partially doing the trick, change compatibility modes until one of them works. Im on Mac right now not windows, but if you right click the wow.exe you should see options for compatibility modes. kjcraig77 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Well it fixed it for a second now its not launching again. Even after i delete the WTF folder or unzip the folder again. When it does launch, once i close it. A window pops up regarding compatibility settings changed and if you want to keep or revert. Any option i choose the same outcome persists.
