Not GM but can confirm, you are wastin' your time.

Though not opposed to the existence of an option for name changing if the changee is willing to donate to the project for the purpose of keeping up the servers up in order to get their name changed.

I don't know the thoughts of the administration on this, but I encourage you to make a suggestion at the suggestion forum.
