chazy 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2017 I didn't have the opportunity to play vanilla back in the day, I started with BC and I remember being able to enable an option to show numbers instead of percents (or 1-100 in this case). No such an option for vanilla (client UI limitation). I'd like to know if you (the team) would accept a PR to make this happen, a change that doesn't affect vanilla experience at all. Just send the data to the client so that addons like LUF can display the numbers. I think other vanilla servers have this implemented. What do you guys think? Am I mistaken in assuming it wouldn't affect the experience? Thanks.
Shiamorah 20 Report post Posted March 13, 2017 Well.. I know the staff generally like to aim for as blizzlike a server as possible. But the server is now open sourced. Most of the devs are focused on AQ, but if a pull was made regarding this, I am sure they would take it into consideration. tl;dr I doubt they'd consider doing it out of their own time, but if a pull request was made about it, they would probably consider it.
chazy 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2017 Yes, I knew they wouldn't implement something like this unless it was requested by many users. To me, I feel the need to see the actual numbers. It's actually something blizzlike, not in vanilla though, but just like the new technology (LoS, mmaps, etc) that wasn't available back in the day and now we can benefit. Improving the playability/experience/performance without affecting the essence, isn't that the objective of the blizzlike servers?
smokeit 26 Report post Posted March 14, 2017 In the interface options you can make it always show your hp+mana amount in numbers. Then download the mobinfo addon to get the hp stats on mobs. (Note the addon calculates based on hits how much hp a mob has on average)
