Rain is Too Frequent and Excessive in Duration

Recommended Posts

I have played WoW since the internal friends and family alpha in 2003. Today I would like to talk about weather effects -- specifically rain and how the Elysium devs have implemented it.

No matter where I go in Azeroth it seems it is always raining. I believe it rains far too often and the duration of rain is too long on Elysium (Darrowshire PVE server).

Weather effects were introduced in 2006 and they were welcomed by the players. However, I never remember the rain being as constant as it is on Elysium. The excessive rain is ruining my enjoyment of the zones. The washed out grey that blankets my screen seems to last for an hour even after the rain stops.

Please tone down the frequency of rain and the duration. Rain should be something that is special not constant.

Thank you!

Here is a link to an article from MTV published in 2006 about an interview with Jeff Kaplan about WoW weather effects that the devs may find useful.

It's weird how some people complain about this and many don't.

I for example really don't have rain issues.

I wonder if it's random per client and just a lottery if you get heavy rain or not.
