Aguila 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2017 (edited) Hello, I was going through the BiS list and decided to do some calculations based on the fact that 1% crit is the same as 23 AP, 1% hit is the same as 18 AP, 1 Agility is the same as 1,9 AP and 1 Strength is the same as 1,1 AP if you're a human rogue with the soft-hitcap enabled based on Oto's guide. Based on the current BiS list, the following items: Unforgiven helm, Truestrike Shoulders, Cadaverous Chest, Bracers of the Eclipse, Swiftwalker Boots & Cloudrunner Girdle equals 344,2 AP. If you replace it with Shadowcraft items instead, it equals 288,4 AP (including the 40 AP set bonus). 344,2 - 288,4 = 55,4 AP. Does 55,4 AP provide more dps than a proc that grants you 35 Energy? mytchi3 1 Report post Posted April 2, 2017 (edited) First 55 ap is huge ammount of dps increase. Second you are loosing hit which is more important than ap or raw stats at this gear level. You can easily do calculation on that proc since its known and verified to be ~3%. So in 100 hits you have 2 extra ss. Now do the math on how much dmg was lost on white hits being 55ap weaker? And count misses also because you lost alot of hit. Edited April 2, 2017 by mytchi3
Caltrix 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2017 The 35 energy easily has the upper hand over 55 AP. Think about it, 2-3 procs = 105 energy. That is doubling your energy/dps potential.

That set is nice for pvp where hit is not needed and those procs mean high burst. They dont have internal CD.
Aguila 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2017 It's not raw AP you lose. It's crit and hit. I think you actually gain raw AP with the set
mytchi3 1 Report post Posted April 2, 2017 Is your aim pvp or pve? If its pve stick to the prebis and prebis alternatives. For pvp shadowcraft setbonus could be usefull
Aguila 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2017 PvE. I would like to run the math though, I just don't know where to start.
mytchi3 1 Report post Posted April 2, 2017 Start by setting up oto's rogue spreadsheet. Then you see what dps it shows for both sets you asked about. Then you look up hittables and understand why crit is higher valued than hit past 9 hit and stuff like that.
