Spirit Tap: is it all that and a bag of potato chips?

I'm grinding away on my priest. I have not put any points into spirit tap. So far I'm just dumping points into wand specialization and then it's the bubble, mind blast, SW:P, wand until down polka. Lather rinse repeat. I'm staying at full mana. Will the points that would have gone into spirit tap be better used to increase heals to better support instancing?

No, you can heal everything fine as shadow up to ST before it gets even semi-difficult.

I can confirm, I am nearly lvl 44 deep shadow specced and I can easily heal Uldaman.

Also,  I started off with a point in spirit tap and alternated points between it and wand spec all the way until they were both maxed out at lvl 20.
