Castbar animation stutter (SOLVED!)

The castbar always stutters, it ticks every 0.1 seconds. I don't use any addons and play at 144hz. I've tried with vsync/triplebuff on/off but the castbar is never smooth. 

I only have this on the vanilla client.

 

Anyone else dealing with this? Any way to sort it? It's pretty bothersome

Only way I've found round this is with lunaunitframes addon, comes with it's own castbar feature which is smooth as silk.

Standard UI has always had this issue as far as I can tell, at least here.

i recommend you to use an UI-addon for this, like lunaframes or ElvUI (my favourite)

Sure some of the settings you can tweak there will help with stuttering issues, not sure which settings though, I haven't had chance to try them myself yet.

I actually tried all those tweaks. Nothing helps with the castbar stutter. Super annoying. I really don't want to use an addon as my castbar. Been using the blizzard castbar for years.

Ok yeah lunaframes is the only way to get rid of the stutter. But lunaframes doesn't have a moveable castbar? It just sits there under the uniframe. I can't play like that.

This Part is Interesting:

timingModeOverride 1-4

Experiment with that since your UI gets its timing from different sources, 1 for example is a simple Tick that runs in WoW all the Time, 2 an integrated time stamp counter included in all CPUs since Pentiums. Different modes = Different results.

 

This can also be caused by Windows 10. Try Fullscreen, Windowed Fullscreen and window mode to check if something changes, update Windows 10 to the latest build released this Week and activate the Game-Mode that surpresses a couple of services to see if this helps.

You can also disable the Xbox App in Windows 10 to see if that helps too.

Unbelievable but it fixed itself somehow. My casting bar is perfectly smooth now. The only notable thing I did was play my TBC client for a few hours (which always had a smooth casting bar). I then went back to Vanilla and the casting is fluent.
