Warlock corruption

Recommended Posts

Me and a friend have been leveling warlocks for a while now both affliction.
As of last night we noticed only one instance of corruption can be on any mob.
We tested it and if i cast it first and he does second only his will do damage.
My Corruption replaces his and vice versa. Just tested on a mob while we are not grouped, he pulled with corruption I casted it after but before his dot ticked and he didnt get the mob.

What gives?

Do you guys use the same rank of the spell? I vaguely remember reading about this as cause for issues on other realms.

I made a report for this a while back, but devs seem intent on ignoring this issue, probably because it's a leveling issue.

The report can be found here, vote up please :D

You would need to find evidence from vanilla that different ranks will stack. The post you're referencing there was long after the change to hot stacking in TBC.

Hmm, that is a good point. I found a post (post #3) from 2008 saying "all of the dots stack, but you can't have multiple ranks of any one spell active on the same target" I stand corrected.

I can't find solid evidence on either standpoint, so if anyone else has another source, that'd be great!

EDIT: On second glance, that post simply confirms that multiple ranks from the same source don't work, it adds nothing to the current discussion
