shaman and mp5 ele/resto pve

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I was wondering how important is mana per 5 seconds on gear. I am going ele and resto for pvp - and resto for pve.

I am not going to lie, it would be cool if you could play ele with mp5 in pve and raids haha xD  oh well.

SO how important is mp5 for shamans at 60 ? should I prioritize that over spirit ? what about healing power ? and crit ? does anyone have a state priority for shamans ? thanks in advance.

priest and druid have something shamans dont have, that's reflection and meditation. Gives around 15% mana regen in combat, it gets better with more spirit

that's why we need mp5

i would say stamina int healing and mp5.  spirit is complelety useless in raids because you don't have any time to regen your mana abit

get as much mp5 and healing as possible

this dude is amazing http://www.classicwow.com/forum/topic/15129-the-egregious-guide-to-resto-shaman/ this guide will show what you need

i don't know anything about pvp gear, but resto/ele is the best choice, tho you need some spell power instead of healing power to increase your dps and healing at the sametime

Mp5 > Spirit always, no exceptions.

Healing>Mp5 in MC and BWL

Mp5>Healing in AQ/Naxx when the fights are all longer. Not that you stop stacking +heal, you just need much more mp5 to stay relevant

Ele would be viable were it not for the fact that everything has such high nature resistance (not much can be done to lower this resistance either). Theoretically one could go ele for Naxx, but who would want that over a lock/mage?

From what I understand (and what I'm going for on my shaman once he's leveled) as ele/resto you can stack spell penetration and use downranked lightning spells until you get focused casting, then unload a full powered lightning bolt/chain lightning for free. Damage is spikey and generally sub-par, but you can do some decent AoE damage and keep your mana pool relatively high while also providing buffs and emergency off heals. Penetration gear is also pretty trash for other classes because of warlock curses, so you'll usually have a good chance to get it on the cheap or not have to compete for it. You're gonna look like a clown, you'll be sub optimal dps most of the time, and people might mock you, but you'll find mana easier to manage and be a decent addition to most 5 man groups if they let you do your thing. Good luck finding a pve group that'll let you play ele though, raiding will be difficult to justify without mana tide. :p
