Character name stolen???

I don't play here often but I'll keep my ticket short. I had the name Spirithealer saved but when I logged in today I noticed that it was taken from my account and somebody else has claimed the character. Why and How? I thought that our accounts were protected.

There were some decisions taken with name clashes on merging the servers, is that what you are referring to? GMs do not remove names from characters to give to others.

Characters transferred from Zeth'kur to the other servers may have, in some circumstances, had name priority if there was a naming conflict. It took into account level and last login time, so if you were flagged for a rename then most likely it was due to your inactivity that the transferring name got priority.

All I know is that when Elysium first came online in January I made a roaster of character names I wanted and I locked Spirithealer in. Now I came online and the R is replaced with a 1 and now I have to change my name. it feels like I was robbed of that name so another person could play it.

You were robbed, there were no good solutions. They chose the least bad system, many were disappointed. But, really, they were migrating many characters, they did not have time to discuss every one. They had to make some choices. You and others were disappointed, others were pleasantly surprised.

Guess I'll just suck it up. Not my server or my rules. I have other characters to play. Hope whoever got it is happy. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't hacked or robbed.
