Weapon Choice: Ice Barbed Spear or Flame Wrath for Ret.

So I currently have both the Ice Barbed Spear and the Flame Wrath.

For all intents and purposes it would seem that the Ice Barbed Spear would be better. The 3.6 weapon speed is much better for Seal of Command, the Attribute bonuses, and Damage is all higher. and with my current gear it is certainly the better choice.

However as a pally farming the Soulforge Set which will, at times, give a potential 189 spell damage increase. 94 guaranteed increase 95 potential on hit. As far as I know that will also stack with the Flame Wrath aoe damage. (Which procs. . all the time often on consecutive hits.) Unfortunately it is not a very good weapon for Seal of Command. . rather I use Crusader, but have considered with more spell damage of doing a Crusader judgment, seal of righteousness with the weapon.

The Question is two fold. . . Which weapon (of the two . . .critical point here) should I use with that set? AND is there ever a time in which I would want to use the other one or should I vendor it? (although I really don't want to vendor the Flame wrath if the answer is as I expect because the animation is so cool)

dont use crusader - use righteousness as it triggers procs - and would work well with your soulforge set and spell dmg gear

id keep both weapons for now

use ice barbed spear with SoC and Flame Wrath with SoR

Right, that's what I meant. However with my current gear (Half in the lightforge)  I don't have any spell dmg. . .so I am just using crusader.

well keep using ice barbed spear with SoC then for the time being and keep the flame wrath until you have a decent amount of spell dmg

Well if you want to play the slot machine, use flame wrath on aoe packs.

Edit: I wanted to add, flame wrath should do 100% of your spell damage to attackers with the fire shield buff.
