Newbie = server question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm new to this project - but so glad it exists (I played Vanilla WoW in my teens and it is still the best gaming experience i've had).

I know there are some posts about the servers but some of them are older and it seems things keep changing so I just wanted to ask here.

I started with a character on Anathema because it was recommended. It's not a dead server but there aren't many people around. Doing a who search for various zones I can see that there's not a tremendous amount of players which I imagine would make doing lower level dungeons quite hard. That's a shame because I love doing those sorts of dungeons during leveling.

On the other hand when I logged onto Elysium there are sooo many players which could make leveling solo quite hard (waiting for mob spawns etc) but would make doing dungeons easy.

I seem to  be having to pick between two extremes. I wonder if anyone has any advice? Do people think Anathema will become more populated over time/ Elysium will become less populated?

I'm a little bit bummed that Anathema is so much further ahead with patches also but tbh i'm more concerned with overall population dynamics (I got to see AQ gates opening the first time around).

Thanks!

I wouldve rolled elysium if i were you. Youll have the time to lvl and gear up before next patches and will be able to enjoy vanilla to the fullest

There are people levelling on Anathema, so getting dungeon groups together is quite possible, though naturally not as easy as on Elysium. 60 instances are run regularly as well as pug raids for ZG-AQ20-MC and even BWL and occasionally AQ40. It is quite possible to start there and have a great experience.
