No verification email and can't log into CP

I used a gmail account to sign up and never received a verification email. After reading the forums about this issue the biggest suggestion was to log into the control panel and request another be sent. Problem is that when I try to log into the control panel I get: "Oh. Something went wrong. :( Too Many Requests" 

 

What should I do now? Start over with a new account or is there a fix for this?

Wait, it's a security measure to stop repeated password breaking attempts. Give it an hour.
