Huge lag and disconnects. tracert to logon.elysium-project.org fails miserably

Joined a couple weeks ago.  I had some lags but nothing like recently.  

What happens is, generally I can log on.  Generally I get green pings in the beginning.  Turns yellow, then red within about five minutes, then huge lags (e.g. up to  6000+ ms) and disconnects.

The 13th hop originates in Canada and is supposed to go to France.  

 

Thinking it might be my DNS settings, or a DNS cache issue on my hardware, I did a tracert using a web application based in Europe:  ( http://ping.eu/traceroute/ )

It  also never completed.  It said:

No reply for 5 hops. Assuming we reached firewall.

Because I can play, somewhat, for a while, and it becomes progressively worse, I am guessing the packets for the game are taking mulitple routes, and some of them are encountering a firewall.  

But not sure.  I know just enough networking to be dangerous :)

Having the same exact problem. I log in, good ping for a short period of time then slowly climbs until finally disconnecting me. I D/Ced about 20 times in an hour. Disabled addons, rebooted computer and router multiple times, and still having the same problem. Issue seems worse in high population areas and raids. 

Edit: I'm wondering if Google DNS settings would cause this? Nevermind that. Nothing changed after changing DNS settings. 

Edit 2: I'm not wondering if the recent Windows Update could have rerouted something? I'm hitting firewalls with and without using a VPN. Quite frankly, I'm no expert at this stuff, but that Windows Security definitions update recently was the only thing that changed for me in past few days.

same issue, can barely login recently , this never happened before ,tracert didnt work either ,i thought it could be my ISP problem,but i can login kronos server with low latency ,so strange

Looking like your peering with BHS has some routing issues. (I route through BHS (OVH's Canada DC) and it i dont experience the issues you experience. 

Have you tried using public dns servers such as google to help correct the routing issues?

Keep in mind that Elysium does use DDoS and Network Filtering so you wouldn't be able to penetrate the network with ping/traceroute requests (it would go only to entry point)

I have tried using dns servers other than google's (because I was on those to begin with) and received the same results. I'm wondering if it is a WBD issue at this point. Because the issue seems to only be in high population areas or when I'm in a raid instance with 39 other people. The client will use nearly double the bandwidth that it normally does and it's writing to my disk. I had deleted my WBD folder earlier this week and have had the lag since that time. 

Can anyone confirm or explain it to me like I'm five how my game client receives the new WBD files once I've deleted them?
