Help. Cant log in

I have DL the game. Its on my Desktop. I have done the set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org. When I click on the WOW launcher it pops up with: This application ahs encounterd a critical error:

Exception:0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 0023:0063A915

The Instruction at 0x0063A915 Referenced memory at "0x0000054"

The Memory could not be "read"

 

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Do not use WoW launcher, use the exe file itself.

Make sure that the client you downloaded was 1.12.1. People have been known to download others.

If you are on Windows, make sure that the World of Warcraft folder is not in Programs, the desktop is fine.

If you are on a Mac, make sure that the World of Warcraft folder and its contents are not write protected (Getinfo)

Open the World of Warcraft folder - delete the WDB folder, it is cache and will rebuilt.

Open the file realmlist.wtf with a text editor (NotePad/TextEdit)

Make sure that the realmlist.wtf's CONTENTS are ONLY 

set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org

There is a folder called WFT, open that, delete the file called Config.wtf if it is present.

Start WoW.exe (Windows) or WoW Classic (mac)

I have done all the above......

I start wow.exe and I get the same message about what i stated in my first post.

It works on my Desktop computer. Just not on my Surface... Any Ideas/suggestions?

That version of the OS may not support it.

No idea. Window on the surface is not the same as a PC under the hood.

Yeah, I cant seem to figure it out. Looks like you can play regular wow on a Surface, for some reason I cant get this version to run.

11 year old client may not use same APIs of newer system.
