Unable to connect

i have this same problem except even after going through the fix i am still unable to connect

Please tell us if you have followed

 

Try each of these steps.
 

Make sure that the client you downloaded was 1.12.1. People have been known to download others.

If you are on Windows, make sure that the World of Warcraft folder is not in Programs, the desktop is fine.

If you are on a Mac, make sure that the World of Warcraft folder and its contents are not write protected (Getinfo)

Open the World of Warcraft folder - delete the WDB folder, it is cache and will rebuilt.

Open the file realmlist.wtf with a text editor (NotePad/TextEdit)

Make sure that the realmlist.wtf's CONTENTS are ONLY 

set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org

There is a folder called WFT, open that, delete the file called Config.wtf if it is present.

Start WoW.exe (Windows) or WoW Classic (mac)

Enter your Username and password

Choose a realm

Usually good at this stage

 

 

and at what stage that it fails.

i checked and i have v1. 12 .1.

wow.exe is not in programs and is on the desktop

the WDB file has been deleted

checked whether or not i changed the realmlist (i did)

the file called Config.wtf has been deleted

started wow

entered username and password

"connecting"..... "disconnected from server"

not sure what i can do or whats wrong at this point.

Check the WoW folder and its subfolders and contents are not write protected. 

Check that the realmlist.wtf file has not picked up  a hidden .txt extension..

so i tried to disable it but after mutilpe tries i checked again and noticed that for some reason it keeps resetting readonly. i have tried five times now and every time it just renables it.

You are using the expanded files, not the view the OS can give you of an expanded compressed file?

after having a freind look at my files he discovered that the realmlist.wft had reverted to the old verson and after we changed to back and saved it, the game ran fine. sorry about the missunderstanding XD
