[Mac client issue] Can't use addons with Mac Client and restricted resolution options

Recommended Posts

Hello there!

To start off with I've been playing vanilla wow on and off my macbook pro for some time when I'm not at home and can play from my pc. The problem that I'm facing and cannot find a solution for seems to be that I can't install any addons what so ever. Also the resolution is not adjustable for greater than 1280 x 800 for some reason. Noteable is that I run the game via Wine version 1.6.1 and the client is the old Emerald Dream / Feenix project one, tho I tried different clients as well.

TBC clients works perfectly with all the addons and resolution settings, but vanilla won't.

Any ideas? Please, any comments about PC being better than Mac for gaming can be spared since I have both and just play on the PC while travelling or in class etc.

Addons are platform neutral. Really. They are designed that way.

Addons for versions other than Vanilla may well not work on vanilla. The APIs are not always the same.

I play on a higher resolution on my Mac. Try deleting the config.wtf file in the WTF folder of WoW.

Deleting the .config didn't change anything really :/

There have been quite a few resolution related posts here. Using a copy of retail can help. Se the resolution in retain, it moves to vanilla.

How do I do this?
