Issue with restoration.

I am having some issues trying to restore my character. I have read a few things form other people having similar issues, but mine seems to be a tad different. I have not logged in to my account in months, but I know it is safe, because I had a google authentication app on the account.  I tried to restore my character a few times since yesterday when the service became available, but kept getting the same issue that other people had, with the "Wrong password or authentication rejected". Thing. I figured that I might have forgotten my password (it does happen), so I used the password reset option. Well, instead of allowing me to rest my password, I get this email, with a broken link in it, making me unable to actually reset my password, and restore my character.  I saw a notice form 5 hours ago (ish) saying that there were some issues going on with the restoration of toons, but have not seen any mention of this particular issue, so thought I would ask if this is related, or something new.

Can anyone shed some light?

The restoration tool is currently undergoing maintenance. There will be an announcement when it is fully functional again. Thank you for your patience.

So, the notice says the issue is fixed. Was able to restore my password. But still being told " Wrong password or authentication rejected". I have tried several times since your anouncement that the restoration tool is back up. So, what gives? Did I need to remove my old 2fa before trying to restore? Am I missing a step?

I have the same issue. I haven't played for a while my last login was somewhere in last June, so I was quite surprised to hear about the data theft. I have succesfully changed my password and I've got a confirmation email about the password change but I still can't restore any characters. Maybe some problem with the authentication? I don't even know what is a 2FA Authenticator, should I have it or not have it at this point? XD

Same issue here. Tried restoring, got that message- tried restoring password, it sent me a new one, tried that, same message. 
Came here to the forums, and had to "create a new account" to talk on the forums, but used my same username and email and password as what I already had- so, I HAD an account named Sibylldruid, but I DIDN'T and had to create it. Help!

 

EDIT: Just noticed the note that says cannot restore characters under level 10- I may not have made it to 10 yet so that may be the issue. 

FINAL EDIT: Just logged into the game client with the "new" account I "just" created, and voila! There's my character!
