New player advice

Recommended Posts

I am very inexperienced at WoW, never played retail and have made it too level 40 on my Druid when this server launched.

Once I got to level 40, I have been struggling. I know what zones I should be questing in for the most part, but I am wondering if there are dungeons I need to run for gear upgrades. That said, I am not doing horribly on gear, and as a druid I am not so dependent on my gear.

So, I am wondering, as an Alliance player, what zones should I invest time in, and which should I avoid? Which dungeons should I try to farm some gear or don't even worry about? I'm also curious as to money making methods, as I sit with 35g, I tried to keep the spending low in hopes for obtaining a mount at 40. I have herb/alch so I may have to farm herbs for mount money.

I would make sure you get some questing in Desolace done. You may be a tad high at 40 but picking up all of the quests for mara is a good idea. Doing the same with sunken temple to prep in advance is also something i recommend. The 40-50 grind is the worst questing range in my opinion.

I have done the quests I was able to find in Desolace, that is how I got to 40. Can you explain what the "quests for mara" are? Also, I am unfamiliar with the sunken temple, and what it preps me for. I will probably google these topics however lol. That is really discouraging >.<

From 1-40 I have a /played of 4d/12h + 5h stuck on level 40.

Welcome to vanilla wow.

you can find anything you need with an addon called "questie" and by watching "vanilla guide addon"

some free tips by this old wow player:

1:never exp saturday or sunday if not inside bg/istances(servers are always full of childs gankers , expecially at week end)

2: do not touch booty bay, avoid it as much as you can

3: make istances,is slower to exp but more safe(do you prefer to risk to lvl up faster and be ganked a lot or lvl up slower but survive and drop?)

4: if you not have quests to do, choose a safe place and grind(can be boring but you ll lvl up any weapon, improve your rotations and farm more golds)

5: choose the morning to exp(even if the server is plaiyed by all countries, european morning is always the best time to play..evening is always a nightmare )

Pretty solid tips. I use Questie and that vanilla guide is a hassle. Anyways I've found a decent grind spot, just gonna get a few levels and hopefully my mount before I move on to quest. But I had forgotten about the Badlands, which is where I currently am finishing up some questing.
