Help Restoring an Old Account

Hey,

I played on the Elysium realm when it first opened in January 2017. Around the time the realms moved over to Light's Hope, I hadn't played for a month or two. When I found out about all the news that had happened, I tried restoring my account onto Light's Hope which didn't work. The reason I don't think it worked was because I think there was two different occasions you had to restore your account over a couple of weeks and I had missed the first occasion which meant when I came back and tried on the second occasion, there was no account to restore? I'm not sure the problem but at the time I sent a tweet to Elysium's twitter for help with no response.

Since then I think everyone's account have been moved back from Lights Hope to Elysium? I'm not really sure of the situation at the moment but would really love to play vanilla again with my old account as I had a level 60 character and don't quite have the time to commit to starting a fresh one. Thank you for any help possible!

I'm just replying to say I'm in the same boat.  I played a warrior to 60 last year when there was multiple servers and was just wondering what the situation is with that.

High level overview to help you guys out;

All Elysium project realms (Anathema, Elysium, Darrowshire etc.) were merged into a single realm named Stratholme. The Elysium project user base was very vocal about wanting a completely new, fresh realm. This realm was created as a fast patch progression vanilla-like experience and the server was named Nighthaven.

After the Nighthaven release, the users flocked to the new Nighthaven realm, and re-rolled new characters. Nighthaven does not support restored characters or realm transfers.

The popularity of Nighthaven negatively affected the Stratholme realm, to the point Stratholme only have about ~300 total users online at peek hours. Because this low user count was unplayable, the server was moved offline.

Without getting into drama, another vanilla project named Light's Hope continued the older, pre-merge Elysium project servers. I cannot speak for them, nor do I have any idea how their project runs or how they restore or transfer or any of those things. What I can tell you, is here on Elysium we only have 1 server, Nighthaven, where everyone has re-rolled fresh.

As far as I am aware, there have not been any transfers from Elysium project to Light's Hope Project. The light's hope project has the old Elysium database, it was not a transfer or a restore.

If you would like, go ahead and start a fresh character and join us here on the Elysium server Nighthaven.

Thank you for your very detailed response! It has helped me a lot in my search for my old account.

For anyone else having a similar problem, try logging into Light's Hope by changing your realmlist and log in with your old details there. My password wasn't my most recent one for the account it was the one before that. Hopefully, like me, all your old characters should be there to hop straight back on to :D 

But yes, Light's Hope has a very low population and the auction house isn't well stocked at all. So, if you want a lively realm, it is probably best to reroll with Elysium on Nighthaven. Or you can wait (possibly years) for wow classic to be released haha! If you just wanted to make sure you have access to your old characters again like me, then hopefully this has helped.
