How do I Elysium? Why do I Elysium?

- No way to login your website... Found a tiny button at the top to get into the forums....and that's it...Oh and a button to make an account.  I assume there are only forums? 

- I ready a lot of words on the website.... a lot of news updates.  I couldn't find 1 thing referencing what this server is - other than a classic WoW server.  I came to the site because I heard you guys do vanilla but with some tweaking to classes and systems to make the game better?  I really want to read a list of changes or at least a brief overview...  making a character and leveling takes a long time....  So you can understand why I want to know what I'm getting into.

I heard a lot of nasty things also about this server.  GM's doing all sorts of crazy things and being generally corrupt....but they were about a year old posts - so it would be cool to read something concerning any changes that happened.  I'm new to WoW classic servers but I'm extremely enthusiastic and just want to find a home I can start grinding in :)

 

Sorry for the super noob post but I have been reading for about 30 mins and didn't get the answers I needed.  So any help will be greatly appreciated :)

1) You do not log into the website, you log into the game or the forums. Game accounts and forum accounts are different, so make sure you create both.

2) The server is exactly as you describe, its a fan recreation of a vanilla WoW server. We aim to be as close to the original blizzard servers as possible. We understand leveling to 60 is a long process, exactly as it was in the original release of retail World of Warcraft. We think we do a better job of mirroring this than any other server project.

3) There was some former GM's who have accused those whom run this project of various things. The major changes that happened were in the leadership and GM roles of the project. The former people created another server project with an elysium database. They seem to be doing okay and seem happy, we are happy and have moved on as well. It's hard to articulate all of it, but the bottom line is there was a split in the past.
