Game freezes on “logout” / “exit game”

Hello.

over the last couple of days I have started to have an issue when logging out / exiting the game on a character resulting in my game freezing for a good 5 minutes plus. On logging out, it will not then take me back to the character selection screen but the game will crash and state “disconnected”

On exiting the game, the game will freeze for well over 5 minutes.

during both these situations I have tried opening the task manager to force close/ end task the WoW app, it shows world of Warcraft as “ Not responding” and will not let me close it. I Will also have trouble alt tabbing between open things as it will continuously flick back to the frozen WoW screen.

is there any solution out that that could help my problem?

I personally have not heard of this but if it were me and I was sure I was not having any computer hardware or software issues I would backup my interface and addons and completely delete and reinstall the game files.

It sounds like something somewhere was corrupted.

This could be a difficult one to diagnose because it may not even be a game issue at all. Could be drivers or any number of other computer hardware/software issues.
