Trouble Connecting - Common Issue Fix did not solve

Hello all,

 

I was stoked when I heard about these private servers, and downloaded and installed the client yesterday to hop on. In the last 24 hours I've tried several times and gone through the all the self-help fixes on https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/56900-some-common-issues-and-how-to-solve-them/ in an attempt to get in, but have been unable to connect. I load the game client fine, but at the login screen it pauses on the "Connecting" popup for about 15 seconds before saying "Disconnected" each time. Does anyone have a fix?

Specifically the fix for most of the disconnected issues is either, you installed to the default directory and or did not set the proper login server in your realmlist.wtf file.

The next step is to go into the new wow folder and locate a file called "realmlist.wtf" - it might only show up as "realmlist", that's fine. Right-click on it and select "Open with" and once Windows asks you what program to use, locate Notepad and use that. Remove everything that is in there and copy & paste the following:

set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org

Save and close Notepad.

Finally, right-click on the file "wow.exe" and select "send to desktop". This will create a shortcut on your desktop that launches World of Warcraft. You should not use the launcher as that is useless with private servers.

 

This should get you connected and ready to start your adventures!

Let's go slow here;

Have you played on elysium successfully in the past, or is this a fresh install and account with us? If you played previously, when was the last time it was successful?

Can you log into the main website with your account information? https://cp.elysium-project.org/

If yes, and only errors are when trying to load into the game, describe what error you get and when you get the error; Example: account name and password are successful & you get to character selection screen - you select a character and upon trying to enter the world you get "Disconnected by Server"

Let's start with this and go from here.

I am having the same problem.  I played several years ago on the other server.  I have tried several times to log in with my old account and keep getting an invalid password or username message.  So I reset password and it still wouldn't work using the new password that was sent to me.  

Next I created an entirely new email account and still having the same problem.   This is trying to log into the control center on the website.  I was trying to do that part first so I could change the password to something that i want instead of computer generated but it won't allow me to log into the control center either.  What am I doing wrong?

 

Fixed,  not sure why it was taking me in a loop over and over, but I tried again the next day and it was fine.
