Followed all advice on forums and Classic wow.app still won't open on mac

I downloaded the windows and mac versions and changed the realm.wtf to kronos west and moved the wow.app from mac to windows and opened and still the launcher does not open. I'm thinking maybe this is because I'm on Mojave?

Just super confused and reeeeally want to play vanilla wow!!! Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I don't personally have any experience with apple products - but that looks like the type of error you would get in a corrupted download.

Is it possible to try a completely different download location and try installing again?

Hmm. It is indeed possible. Maybe I'll ethernet it up to the router. Hey thanks for looking over this for me... I'm obsessed with vanilla wow and have been dying to play again 😞

Got it to work 😎 In case anyone has trouble...

Didn't have to switch a wow app or even download a mac os client

1. Create account at https://elysium-project.org/

2. Download and unzip the windows client from the elysium 'beginner's" section

3. Download and install Xquartz (winehq says to download and install this before installing wine) https://www.xquartz.org/

4. Download and install wine (i believe it allows windows files to be read on mac(this is useful to open the wow.exe file)) 

      -"installer for Wine Stable" is the one you want to download

5. After everything is downloaded and installed control click wow.exe and open with wine (you'll need to do this every time to open wow)

      -it will say you are missing some files to open the correct windows file types at which it asks you to download said files (should only take 2 minutes) this will happen 3 times successively

6. Screen goes black for 5 seconds then WoW opens 🙂

7. Your account and password are what you made in 1. 

8. Check the "english" button or you won't be able to select a realm.

9. Choose Nighthaven (recommended) create character and play to your desire.
