    Pretty upset

When a thread gets locked, it means that the topic of that thread is closed. You could have PM'ed me about it instead of creating immediately a new thread that talked about the same topic. Which is considered spam, hence why I removed your thread. If you honestly did not know about the four demons for the Hunter epic bow quest, then my bad and this was a case of misunderstanding. Also, come on now, comparison to Nazi Germany are not warranted at all.

    Rough time played estimates

According to statistics, on old Nost the average time for 1-60 was 10 days /played - meaning 250 hours.
  5. The author of these videos is, as others pointed out, quite good at voice acting. One of his charades, that he started early on over at Nostalrius forums, was of a American ghetto gangster. He repeatedly violated our rules regarding spamming, advertising and language, which led to him being moderated. Needless to say, his ramblings have very little to do with actual events. Scuffed, at least try to stick to the reality of things when you post.

    Trading Section must have

https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showforum=396 Your post could be the first one there.
  7. We now have a separate guild recruitment and advertising sub-forum for each realm. I've moved all the threads to their new homes. Please post here if your thread went accidentally to a wrong forum or if a thread is obsolete in which case I'll get rid of it.
  8. Paladin gear should not drop for Horde raids and Shaman gear should not drop for Alliance raids. We are not going to add more graveyards.

    Error starting the WoW.exe

That's because the default setting is to hide the file types when looking at folders. You can safely delete launcher, it's completely useless and will just lead you astray. As for why wow itself would be freezing your system, I cannot say. It's a pretty well made program and runs without problems on 64-bit systems as well.
  10. For an example: The Deadmines. Defias Pirate hits for 121-145. You will usually encounter at least two of them, alongside Defias Wizards, who melee for 113-135 and also cast fireballs. Not counting the fireball damage, which cannot be reduced by armour, the tank will take from 234 (best case scenario) to 560 (worst case scenario) of damage every 2 seconds or so. That's without talents or armour reducing incoming damage but also without criticals and the fireball damage. A lvl 18 warrior will not have above 1k armour and likely less than 1k HP unless the players has really geared them well. Let's use ~800 armour for ease of calculation - that would give 29% damage reduction against lvl 18 mobs. I'm not counting defensive stance since the point Zarant is making is to deal maximum damage to clear the dungeon quickly. So we now have incoming damage from the range of 164 (best case) to 392 (worst case), still every 2 seconds or so. Meaning that our battle stance warrior with no prot talents and no shield, will die anywhere from 6 seconds (worst case) to 10 seconds (best case). Again, super rough napkin math, not counting misses nor crits here. The elite mobs have from 1k to 1.4k health, so they aren't dying in less than six seconds either. So I would say that it's pretty foolish to go into an instance and tank with a 2-hander while relying on your healer. Remember that it doesn't matter how fast the packs die, if you have to wait 20-30 seconds after each one for your healer to drink up. And that kind of incoming damage will stress out a priest, not to mention the hybrid healers. Yes, you can do it if the tank and healer are higher than usual for that dungeon, especially if the are nicely geared as well, especially if you have good CC in the party. But it should not be given out as advice, especially for newcomers to vanilla.
  11. That means your Nostalrius account is safe and the one you created on Elysium is gone.

    Stress Test #3 (04.12.16)

It might have been the DNS issue. Check Help & Support for detailed advice.
  13. The only difference between PvP and PvE realms is that on the PvP realms, you are always tagged for PvP combat, outside of capitals and 1-10 zones. On PvE realms, you have to flag yourself for PvP combat. The difference between Nostalrius PvP and Elysium PvP is that on the former, players can continue with their old characters, whereas on the latter everybody starts from level 1.
  14. No, it didn't. Somehow we survived a 3k launch and a 4k peak by end of first week without it.

    Chat Spam

After launch, you can also report spammers via GM tickets. Click the red question mark, select Stuck, select Still Stuck, name the spammer and channel/zone, and preferably include a link to a screenshot of them doing that. We'll take it from there.

    Name Change on old character?

No name, race, gender, class, faction or appearance changes are possible. We understand that it is possible that some people now have their Elysium character as their main and do not want to continue with their old Nostalrius name but making any exceptions to the DB merger is a huge task and prone for errors. Unfortunately this isn't possible.

Exceptions are not possible due to technical reasons.

    Error starting the WoW.exe

Sounds like something went wrong when you installed the vanilla client. Uninstall and redo it. If you downloaded a "wow.rar" or a "wow.zip" file, remember that you need to actually extract its contents somewhere on your computer, If you just open the archive with WinRar or 7-Zip or some other similar program and try to run "wow.exe", it will crash.

    Stress test 2

Account security is the responsibility of the player. Since we have no method of strong identity verification, as that requires a credit card, we can only hope that the player themselves take good care of their account security. Some tips: 1. Use a unique account name and password combination, not the same one you've used at other private servers. At least change the password. 2. Don't download add-ons from sketchy websites. 3. Do not share your account details with anyone - even a guild mate or a friend: "Just a prank bro, I sold your stuff, tell them you got hacked, they'll restore everything" <- no we won't. 4. Elysium staff will NEVER ask for your password. If a GM needs to contact you for whatever reason, they will do so by whisper and you will see the GM tag in front of their name. 5. If you download a hacking tool, expect to get a keylogger with it. 6. Regularly run antivirus and malware scanners and keep them updated. WoW accounts do not really get hacked - actual hacking is extremely rare. Usually what happens is that a database from a private server is sold or leaked and then malicious people use the account name & password combinations at every other private server. Or a guy makes a doctored Youtube video showing a method of hacking without getting caught and links to his cool new toy, that actually is just a keylogger, or, if you're really lucky, also mails your gold to them.
