  1. I am not 100% if this is a bug so I didn't start a bug tracker for it, however I am concerned with Thorium Shield Spike damage. The MOST I've seen it return damage for it 20 damage, and 16 damage on the bottom end. I went to lowbie zones to test on level 5 caster mobs, and usually did 19 damage. Though this spike is to return 20-30 damage. Seeing as I am getting the same damage range of 16-20 in PVP, level 5 mobs, level 60 high armor mobs, I am concerned that the Thorium Shield Spike spell ID is set to the same as the Mithril Shield spike of 16-20 damage. If anybody else can confirm they are experiencing the same results, I will start a bug tracker.

    There is a trick you can do that will prevent shoulders from displaying at a cost of 8.5% stats. Unequip.

    Though this thread is about spec post level 40, I'll cover some points with you about your submission: The miss penalty applies to your main hand white hits as well. Also you are not factoring in while grinding your first hit starts at 0 seconds when you run up and hit the mob. Greatly increasing the damage of using a 2h vs a x2 1h (not even factoring in the misses). Also in the event you are grinding higher level mobs (which you shouldn't) an experienced warrior with a very slow weapon can use some of their excess rage (pre-40) to hamstring or piercing howl. With a mob under these effects you can Auto - run out of melee range, and run back in for an instant auto, run back out, - repeat. This makes your damage uptime vs damage taken ratio work out extremely well in your favor in regards to limiting down time. (swing timer add-on helps a lot here). This is something you should do when fighting other melee in pvp as well. Starting in arms tree hinders you right off the bat. Rend should be used (pre-40) as the damage per rage > heroic strike; when the mob is >50% HP. Open with it, you usually don't refresh it though. So Imp heroic strike has limited usage as you don't have much spare rage to use it often. You would be better off refreshing battleshout at the end of your fight than use an extra Heroic strike and putting you out of rage for next mob and having your battle shout expire. Imp charge has limited use as well while questing due to many of your quest involve camps of mobs that you have to bow pull to a safe location and unleash any adds. Again limited application beyond the few kill "x" beast that tend to roam alone. Tactical mastery has VERY limited application outside of mocking blow pre-30 as well. In the event you do need to stance dance after 30, you can conserve bloodrage for such cases to get your 10 rage / intercept. So limited application in this stage of leveling. So you are giving up 5% crit, a heal that will heal you for pretty much half the damage of a crit (making it just a normal hit - if you prioritize stam), and forcing enrage for 25% increase of all damage = 25% more rage gains as well - ALL By level 29!     You are correct that Finkles is no longer best due to rage gains from incoming damage. At times you'll opt for a mix of both, which I have my own personal values of "overall" (EPH/TPS/Avoidance/Mitigation) per slot which you can find here: https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/22798-tank-points-by-undertanker/ For your post I will deffer an overall value to answer your question without being specific to any patch you should have 2 tank weapons. A TPS (Threat per second) and a Mitigation/Avoidance weapon. TPS Your TPS weapon will be a SLOW weapon. The slower the better, due to providing more average uptime on Crusader. A 1.3 speed weapon has a proc rate of 2.16% on crusader. (46.51% average uptime / 93 attack power) *before buffs A 2.9 speed weapon has a proc rate of 5% on crusader. (75% average uptime / 150 attack power) *before buffs If you are human Vis'Kag > Deathbringer in this regard. Crul'shorukh > Vis'Kag / Deathbringer. A 2.3 speed weapon has proc rate of 3.83% on crusader. (63.26% average uptime / 126 attack power) *before buffs Crul'shorukh has +36 AP on the weapon, 13 stam for in increased EHP (effective health pool), and more raw DPS on the weapon for stronger white hits. In terms of preraid: Iron Foe > Bone Slicing Hatchet / Mirah's Song (If human) Avoidance/Mitigation Your Avoidance/Mitigation weapon will be a stat stick with no concerns of base DPS or speed. Stam / Agility / Def / +Parry If or when DM is out on your resident server, Quel'Serrar is very good for up and coming tanks that are well below the DEF cap due to itemization while in their avoidance/mitigation gear. The proc happens often to a point it refreshes itself. While the proc is active this weapon is only beaten out by Blessed Qiraji War Hammer, which is an AQ40 item in terms of overall, however in pure Avoidance/Mitigation is even beats out this monster of a weapon when the proc is up. Bone Slicing Hatchet is mentioned here again, as a preraid go to. The high agility of this weapon gives 0.65% dodge and increases your EPH.

    This is the same for battle stance while I am farming. Also like in OP, I've tested this on low end mobs as well. The damage range appears to match Mirthil Spike.

    The UI is just Bartender2 and Luna. I have the bars as 3x4 as I have a mouse with buttons on the thumb in the same layout. Holding shift uses mid bar, holding control does right bar. I use eNatureEnemy Castbar, and CCwatch to see my hamstring and when they are using cooldowns. OmniCC gives you the timer on your action bars for when your abilities will be ready. SCT will give you your pop-up alerts of when to overpower/execute/revenge, drop combat and things like that.

    While I enjoy seeing you go out of your way to belittle me; I enjoy seeing how far you will take it before you realize you simply misread what I posted, also you clearly didn't read the entire thread The guy is justifying using Felstrikers for forcing shield bash crits and claiming it to be better than sunder. At which point I made a comment about the damage from revenge and shield bash being weak from a damage perspective. We done here? Or are we still embarrassing ourselves?

    Also encourage the shammy to drop tremor totem right before the fear, this will allow the pulse to happen when it is needed, rather than possible 3 second gap of fear if you happen to also have bezerker rage on CD.

    NA, never a day. @retarded who keeps failing at knowledge. Crits do not effect the base threat of an ability. It is base threat + damage done. Crits increase damage done only. It does not magically double the base threat as well. Fact. Not opinion. That's 3 strikes, you're out.

    The 1.4 server tanks don't have great gear and sacrifice a lot of stam for def. And the fights are much longer due to the lack of hit gear, especially on ranged dps.

    Crit does not double the base threat of an ability. So yeah revenge is weak. Shield bash is as well when looking at it from a damage stand point. If the bosses had zero armor, sure a crit shield bash would compete with a sunder. That doesn't justify using Felstriker for 12 second Cool down shield bash to be a tiny bit better and only when timed with RNG. 2-shots, 2-misses.

    To add to this, even though you equal there threat, does not mean you will maintain aggro. The mob is forced to attack you for the 6 seconds, however if you do not exceed 10% of the person's threat that you taunted off of, it will go right back to them. This is why tanks that taunt off of each other to reset a stack of debuffs (Golemag) early in the right rather than later. That 10% becomes much harder to overcome later in the fight. Example: If I have 10k threat and you need to take the boss, when you taunt you now have 10k threat. You have 6 seconds to exceed 10% more than me. 1001 threat. If we did this change later: If I have 50k threat and you need to take the boss, when you taunt you now have 50k threat. You have 6 seconds to exceed 10% more than me. 5001 threat. First example is easy to obtain, the second example can be difficult or even out of reach. This is were improved taunt is great, lowering the Cool down enough to be able to taunt > mocking blow/challenging shout > taunt again before it falls off, giving you a much longer time to breach that 10% threshold. Also understanding this, you will understand that is it better to taunt a target THEN dump your rage on threat abilities rather than using threat abilities then taunting. You will get a feel for when a shield slam + sunder is enough or you should taunt then do those.

    So we will use an inferior weapon to hope RNG lines up with 6 second cooldowns? One being extremely weak (revenge). Shield bash shouldn't be apart of TPS rotation, and Heroic strike isn't used very often. Normally sacrificing the usage of shield block to use, with the exception of Chromag and Nef as they do enough damage to use both. (Not a 1.3 HS spam though). Aim better when you take shots...

With 100% Flurry uptime, you'll get 35 autos with MH. 40 possible globals, giving 75 possible procable abilities if you have enough rage to spam hamstring. 5% proc rate: 3.75 procs on average every minute. or 7.5 more auto attacks at very possible best. Lets assume you are raid buffed w/ around 2k AP, should be autoing for about 500, 1200 crit. we'll use 40% crit. so you have 780 per auto. That is an extra 5850 more damage in 60 seconds. (no reason to consider extra rage because with the numbers above I inferred infinite rage for hamstring spam as well). / 97.5 DPS. But you are giving yourself weaker bloodthrist, lower average up-time on crusader due to base weapon speed, and 2 less weapon skill from using the +5 racial only on the mace, vs +7 sword/axe/dagger that edge masters gives." ^ is assuming you hit with all your auto attacks, which you won't, and none of your hits were glances, which they will be. In short, max world buffed, IF is good, normal raid buffed Onyxia / BWL level weapons are better.

    Impale only works for Abilities, not auto attacks. So to get any use out of that, you'd have to time the proc window of 3 seconds with a 6 second cooldown ability that you need to be using on cooldown, not waiting for a Felstriker 2.6% proc.
