    How exactly do Spriests fare?

Shadow is really ungrateful spec. You use all those consumables and even if you push hard, you still get фекал DPS. Like others have mentioned, you have to be dedicated and showing up always if you want that 1xSpriest spot to be yours. Gear is subjective since different guilds have different views on the matter, but shadow priests get the lowest priority usually which is understandable. This doesn't mean you will wait out on all the casters untill you get X item every single time of course.

And now Smite comes into play... We've reached the peak, guys.

    Legacy Returns: Official Release Date

Very good. Any word on the population caps or this will be decided at launch?
  4. The spec looks good and should work nicely, at least on paper. But doesn't it mean that you are gimping a healer so you can bring additional DPS, whereas you could have full-time healers and a below average DPS with standart spriest. Don't be so dismissive on Spriest DPS, it's not THAT bad. Could any Priest running this spec post raidstats so we can compare?

The whole thread sounds like "you get more damage done if you use distilled wisdom flask as spriest and intellect aktoally gifs u mena rigen". Anyone with a head on his shoulders will disregard this. PS: We might as well turn this thread into music/pictures/random stuff, it has no other purpose.

I'm out of popcorn. Please stop. @Maxvia, don't waste your time. Doesn't matter what numbers you throw at Doki - he has both language and calculation problems.
  7. I wouldn't mind some boost on most bosses, that'll make some fights a bit more interesting. However, it's not something that MUST be done because not every player and guild out there is experienced and hardcore (Dreamstate, NOPE, etc.). Also, there are guilds that are taking their time when it comes to progression or run with some not-so-viable/min-maxed specs which will be hampered by such boost. The idea is good but I don't think it should take place at this very moment. May be somewhere after Naxxramas is cleared when decked out guilds/players are still looking for challenge in Vanilla but don't want to progress in TBC.

    Talisman of Binding Shard

I don't understand the point of this suggestion. The item should be available on the fresh PvP realm untill it drops once.

    Warlock Versus Shaman

I agree with most of what is said, but Priest and Druid are better single-target healers than Shamans in my opinion. They tend to run out of mana on really long fights, too. And isn't Claw of Chromaggus better for resto shamans than Lok'amir? We need Scar in here to drop some knowledge.

    PvE Server Progression

I meant, a week before the announcement. And my bad on the intervals, I got mislead by old timeline picture. AV was released in July and BWL was released in September on old PvP. So, this makes it less than 2 months again. Sources: pre-nerf AV, AV, BWL release

    PvE Server Progression

1.5 patch (AV) was released a week before the shutdown, something like that. If they are following the same intervals of releasing as the PvP realm, it would mean BWL should be released in less than 2 months after PvE realm re-launch.

    enthusiastic dude explains Elysium

Sounds like a bad football(soccer) match commentator. Also, NostRalrius triggers me every time.
  15. Fair enough dude, but these suggestions have been floating around ever since Nostalrius 1.0 launched. Main reason why adding, editting, manipulating in any way of the MPQ files will not be allowed is: Also, here are some links from the old Nostalrius forums: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30385&hilit=model&start=10#p218648 <- especially this one http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=24732 <- this one has the most comprehensive talk on the matter, especially Jeniwyn's posts http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=26346 https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12643&p=80600#p81049 In before "but may be the new team will allow it" - I highly doubt it, and I think your only option to make it work is following Lootolf's suggestion; make a post containing the information how ONLY the new models will be whitelisted. Untill then, sadly, you are stuck with the vanilla models. Or, I might be absolutely wrong about all this and you guys get a GM/Developer/Administrator note soon that you'll be able to do this.

    Prefered Healer in Vanilla?

It's not that important to not overheal due to talents like Inspiration and Ancestral Healing. Don't know if Paladin and Druid have armor-increasing-on-heal-crit talents, but yeah. Obviously, if your % overheal takes big part or it's more than your % efficient healing, you should fix that. Doesn't hurt to overheal here and there. And my prefered healers are Priest and Druid since they have the strongest heals, HoTs, utilities.

I don't understand why the moderators deleted the two posts made by me and Asphycsia containing pictures instead of text. The pictures were perfectly recreating our reactions on Killerduki's posts. If the moderators think this is a sensible discussion in ANY way, which is not, fine, but stop deleting posts that are related to the discussion. It's not spam or off-topic. Also, the so called freedom of speech should not allow someone to spread fabricated and erroneous information. This is why people react harshly sometimes. Enough attention to Kilerdoki now.

Basic Holy Priest guide - "What the light will tell you."

I've never used this potion but it looks really good since it doesn't have a variable amount. Is it interuptable though? I mean, if you get into this 'sleep' and take damage, will it interupt the effect or lower it's duration? This will be the best thing to use for mana regain in between C'Thun phases if you are unable to eat/drink. Your link is broken btw. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=20002 And the comments on the item are hilarious. "The main complaint I've heard from users is that a trigger-happy dispeller removes the magic effect too soon."

    What do you enjoy grinding?

I'll have to join the AD rep farm club. Eventhough I'm Exalted already I love spamming Stratholme UD and Scholomance (mainly for runes) just for the sake of it. I even got that epic staff from Scholo, heh. Dire Maul Tribute runs as well for mana potions. What can I say, a shadow priest's life. Also, I love farming Demonic Runes from the demons in Azshara. I've had plenty of 1v1 PvP action in there and had a couple of blue and purple items dropping that sold for good coin.

    Shadow Priest Theorycraft by Killerduki

Xom, great explanation without the need of numbers and calculations. Something I wish I could've done instead of squinting my eyes in Notepad++. Unfortunatelly, Killerduki doesn't understand that the Intellect stat will give him only certain amount of Mana which will be equal to 1 or 2 more spells to cast. The only time Intellect will outweight Spell Power is on a fight where you will go Out of Mana precisely when the boss goes down. Said otherwise, in the very moment you run OOM and the boss is still alive the Intellect falls down in value versus Spell Power. May be I didn't express that very clear due to language barrier but yeah, you get the point.

    Rough time played estimates

6-8 days played depending on class, professions learned while leveling and knowledge on where it's best to quest/grind. I leveled my Priest a bit under 8 days but I did Herbalism up to 170 and Tailoring up to ~270 before hitting 60. Leveled a Warlock as well to 60 in 7 days and few hours with no professions but I wasn't exactly 'speedrunning'. 10-14 days played again depending on class but mainly if you have lesser knowledge on how to level at best efficiency.

    Priest Leveling Guide

I go 5/5 Spirit Tap first like majory200 since the 25% increased damage on wands isn't that much early on. I find it weird though that no one mentions Martyrdom instead of Improved Fortitude. It's great for soloing hard/elite mobs as well as for the world PvP that you'll be part of inevitably and helps out healing in instances if you get a bad tank. The additional stamina from Improved Fortitude is only 12 more on last rank, can't imagine being worth it on the lesser ranks. I would like to add http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=516 (level 16+) in the wands list in case you're not Alliance, not an enchanter or don't want to waste money for Greater Magic Wand. But all this is just minor tidbits. The guide covers pretty much everything a leveling Priest needs to know.

    Shadow Priest Theorycraft by Killerduki

PS: I'm leaving this "you will get more Damage Done if you stack Intellect instead of Spell Power" thread. Have fun misguiding new players. PS2: Doesn't matter what are the base stats. It's some fictional mana pool to reflect as much as possible the outcome of Intellect vs. Spell Power in a 98s fight. The best way to counter all this is to make a Shadow Priest and show what you can do with the spec. But you will never do this, even on a 12x experience server, so this discussion is pointless.
