    Can it run Vanilla?

Never understood why people put all sorts of lights and фекал inside their desktop tower when are you ever going to look at that

    Don't roll a Warrior...

oh boy, another PvP movie that is nothing but a compilation of crits and procs

    Don't roll a Warrior...

Cannibalize is not really that useful, seeing as it's got a 2 minute CD and only restores about as much health as a bandage. And only works on humanoids. People mainly roll UD for WOTF. Tauren is nice for tanking, with the extra health bonus, but that's about it. Orc's +25% stun resist is also horrendously OP in PvP. Makes it much harder for Rogues to gank you because often times their Cheap Shot / Kidney Shot will get resisted. Same with Hammer of Justice, Blackout, Impact, etc.

    Don't roll a Warrior...

Even without external money, warrior isn't TOO hard to level, just slower. I tried it out on Kronos, and found that with Herb/Alch, I could make plenty of potions for myself, as well as scrap together some nice cash by selling Swiftthistle.
  5. I'll putz around a bit on my old characters while I wait for the new player rush of the PvE server to clear out.

BBC Coverage - good or bad?

@that copypasta Yeah, I too saw how tons of idiots claimed that "people are only playing vanilla servers because it's free, they wouldn't play if they had to pay for it!!!"...such bullshit. If Blizzard released an official realm, it'd have perfect scripting, no lag/disconnects, no pay2win bullshit, no incorrect/buggy abilities, no broken quests, etc. etc. I would gladly pay $15, or even $30 a month for what is essentially a 100% flawless Vanilla server.
  7. You went to the official forums. There's your problem. They are always crying and whining and doomsaying about one thing or another. That's just what they do. Myself, I play retail and vanilla because I don't see why I should limit myself to only one. /shrug

What is it like committing to priest?

If you're Horde, that is. If you're Alliance, then 90% of your opponents will be Undead who will just racial out of your fear and destroy you.

    Priest Leveling Guide

If you're on the PvP servers, you'll want Shadowform asap for not only the damage reduction, but the boost to shadow spells will help you fight other players. On the PvE server, yeah, you can just wait until 45 to get Shadowform.

    Don't roll a Warrior...

If you're not concerned with leveling speed though, running instances is a good idea because you can get plenty of blue gear to help you while questing. Personally, I'm going to run Deadmines until I get the 2h axe, SM:Armory until I get the shoulder and head and legs, SM:Cath until I get the shield, run Uldaman until I get Stoneslayer, etc.

    All this hype

Admins are in Russia and Russia won't give a fck about takedown requests from the US. Even if the server host in France is forced to shut down the server, the admins will just take the server data and move it to a different host.

Why do we like vanilla WoW?

-No instant gratification crap, things actually take time, which makes you more invested in your character -No ezmode epics and welfare gear, you have to earn your rewards -No shitty class homogenization, classes feel unique and play differently from each other -No instant-teleport LFD, you actually have to travel places, which makes the world actually feel like a world. The over-abundance of teleports and instancing in retail makes it feel less like a world and more like a lobby game -No cross-realm фекал, so the good players and bad players will be known; people are actually held responsible for how they act in groups. -You actually have to communicate with people to do group content -There's actually lots of group content outside of dungeons/raids, unlike retail where even "elite" world quests can be solo'd very easily -Broken up quest flow forces you to explore the world and do every quest you can across multiple zones at the same time, as opposed to retail where you're practically on rails, going from one convenient quest hub to the next, to the next, to the next, and halfway through the zone you outlevel it and move on to the next zone without even finishing your current quests -Interesting gear with lots of unique pieces, compared to retail where everything is just primary stat + crit/haste/vers/mastery -Questing is actually challenging, there's actually a risk of dying. You can't just go around wildly pulling 10+ mobs and effortlessly AoE'ing them all down like you can in retail. Plus you have фекал like random-wandering elites (Mor'Ladim, etc) that make the zones feel dangerous. Among other things.
  13. Thing is, some classes can farm things that others can't. You can't farm lashers in DM East on a warrior or a rogue or a shaman. You need to be a Priest or Mage to do that. (or Paladin if you have good gear) And "farming" in terms of killing mobs or herbs/ore, isn't very good to do on a healing class because you'll take forever to kill things. And having to spend 50g just to respec and farm is not a good idea either. Also, leveling a mage to 60 wouldn't take you 200 hours. If you skip most dungeons and just go for quests/grinding, you can easily go 1-60 in about 6 days /played, or ~144 hours.

    Don't roll a Warrior...

Yep, you just advertise "LF Heals/DPS" and pick up only non-mail classes (so, no paladins/warriors pretty much) and have 0 competition for gear and 2h weapons.

    Priest Leveling Guide

You don't need to be in a healing spec to heal dungeons until BRD or so. What I usually end up doing is going Shadow until 57 or so, then just healing dungeons until 60, since I'm going to be doing those dungeons anyway to farm for gear. It doesn't increase your WAND damage....unless you have a Shadow wand. Even so, the +15% physical damage reduction is really nice.

    How exactly do Spriests fare?

In TBC, yes. Sit in the healer group and do mediocre DPS while crying that you're OOM. Ahh, the good old days...
  17. And all the motherваууers who would camp Thorium Point. There's a reason why I detest PvP servers.
  18. Really, unless you're pushing for bleeding-edge progression, it does not matter what race you are. The difference is not game-breaking. You won't get kicked from a raid for not being a certain race. When I roll my Warrior, I'm rolling Gnome, because the idea of a tiny tank is hilarious.

    Don't roll a Warrior...

Yeah, that's how Warrior goes. With фекал gear, you're фекал. With godlike gear, you're godlike. You are only as strong as your gear, for the most part.

    Swing Timer & Casting Spells

Pretty sure it's a bug. Swing timer is supposed to be reset by casting, specifically to prevent situations like what you listed, where you get a really slow 2h and sneak in casts between weapon swings.

    Will Multi-boxing be allowed?

It's pretty easy to tell when someone is or is not multiboxing. Multiple accounts connecting from the same IP does not automatically mean multiboxing. If the GM goes in however and sees one (or more) characters /follow'ing another, from the same IP, yeah that's pretty obviously multiboxing. Just don't use /follow and people won't think you're multiboxing.

    Forum censoring

We're all adults here (Hopefully), I don't think we need to be censoring swears. Even so, it's pretty easy to get around it by using accented letters. shįt, fŭck, whőre, etc.

What is it like committing to priest?

I've leveled a couple Priests to 60 across Vanilla servers, and you've kinda got it right. Priest leveling is slow, but very efficient. You rarely need to drink. You can just go mob to mob to mob to mob without ever having to stop, by using SWP + Wand. You do this even after you get Shadowform, as your Shadow spells don't really start getting good until the late 40s / early 50s. Even so, "slow" is relative, because when I went 1-60 on Nost, it took me 9 days /played, and that is including doing every single dungeon while leveling (some more than once) and also raising two professions over 200 skill. So if you just focused on questing/leveling and only doing dungeons for quests, you could easily go 1-60 in 6 or 7 days /played. Yes, you get into dungeon groups really easily for being a healer, and you can easily heal as shadow all the way up until Sunken Temple / BRD. Healing raids, I found to be very, very boring. Granted, I only did MC and ZG, but 90% of my time was spent just spamming rank 2 Heal and getting sniped by Paladins. It was mind-numbingly boring. Once you hit 60, you can spec into Holy Nova and farm lashers in DM E for easy gold. (I say 60, because you need a certain amount of mana to ensure that you don't OOM before the lashers are dead)
