Another stress test for fun?
gotmilk0112 replied to Pacifista's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Yeah, I'm probably going to play around on my old Nost PvP characters for a few days before starting on the PvE server, just to let the initial rush get out of the way. Definitely wanting to level my 38 Warrior to 40, to see how powerful Mortal Strike is, for myself. -
Do I really want to play on a PvP server?
gotmilk0112 replied to MacinJosh's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Though for every thoughtful and respectful post, there's at least 2 or 3 people pointing and screaming "CAREBEAR! CAREBEAR!" at anyone who doesn't like PvP servers, sadly. IIRC, they're going to be just relaunching as Nostalrius and Nostalrius PvE. And the new fresh PvP realm is going to be called Elysium. -

Play a PvP server if you enjoy every single contested zone being a massive gankfest, where "Red is Dead" rules supreme. -
The Case for 'Gummycraft' in Raiding on the New Release
gotmilk0112 replied to hotdwarfsixpack's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
This again? Trying to "buff" vanilla content is a really bad idea. Increasing boss health/damage won't do anything except make gear requirements tighter. It'll still be the same exact mechanics that everyone knows how to do, and the same skilled players who know their class. Nothing will change except bosses taking longer to kill. Adding in new mechanics would make the server not blizzlike. And the biggest problem is that there would be endless arguing about the "proper" amount of buffing that should be done. There will be people crying that the buffs were too much, and people crying that the buffs were not enough. No thanks. Even if we were to magically patch the game with perfect patch 1.1 talents, we'd still have skilled players who know the raid strats and know how to gear up. We cannot realistically achieve this supposed level of difficulty from 2005. It is not feasible in the slightest. People need to accept the fact that MC and ZG are not meant to be difficult, and stop crying for buffs to what are supposed to be the entry-level raids. -
It's really only useful in TBC because you have two decent-damage seals (Blood, and Command) In vanilla it's not very useful since Seal of Righteousness doesn't do a whole lot compared to Command.

"Build your own legacy" It's like a direct response to Blizzard's silence on legacy servers. We'll make our own legacy server, with BLACKJACK! and HOOKERS! In fact, forget the hookers and the blackjack! -

You're asking the internet to get along and behave. Good luck with that. Just download SpamThrottle addon and block overly salty assholes. -
Warriors may be the hardest/slowest to level solo, but it's not like it's impossible. I'd argue that Paladins are more annoying to level, because of having to fck around with seals and judgements and having absolute sh!t DPS until you get 5/5 Reckoning at 34. It's not that the class is hard to play, it's just the most gear-dependent class in the game, so naturally it's going to feel like it's the worst at leveling, because you don't really get much gear while leveling. (Unless you're rich and can deck yourself out in blues) Just as a test, I tried leveling a Warrior with absolutely no external money assistance, and found it not too difficult. The trick to leveling Warrior is to always fight mobs that are lower level than you, and do quests that are below your level. As long as you're fighting mobs that are 2-4 levels below you, you'll do perfectly fine and won't have to eat/bandage after every pull. I often found that I could go 3-4 mobs without having to bandage, or if the mobs were 4-5 levels below me, I could easily knock over 8-10 of them before having to heal up. Even without extra gold from other characters, I was able to get to 15g by level 18, by selling Swiftthistle. (herbed from Mageroyal / Briarthorn) With this, I bought a blue 2h axe off the AH for 5g, and sh!t dies really easily. With Alchemy as well, you can make lots of potions for yourself, so fighting 2 mobs isn't a problem because you've always got a supply of potions to use, plus elixirs which are like having extra pieces of green gear. +4 str elixir, hp/5 elixir, armor elixir, +27 max health elixir, really nice at low levels and super easy to craft with just the herbs you find. I actually found this much easier than when I leveled a warrior on Nost. When I leveled a warrior there, it frustrated and pissed me off, how slow it was killing things. I suppose now I'm just expecting it, so the relatively slow killing doesn't surprise me as much. Even then, "slow" is relative, because I'm still killing equal level mobs in 15-20 seconds, which isn't that much slower than other classes. For the most part, there are three main keys to making your life easier as a leveling Warrior: -Always use a blue weapon if possible, keep upgrading your weapon as often as you feasibly can; at lower levels just get the highest DPS 2hander, once you get Mortal Strike at 40, go for slower stuff -Always fight mobs that are at least 1 level lower than you -Keep a stock of potions and bandages so that you don't have to sit and eat as often Also, another pro of leveling Warrior, is that tanks are the most sought-after group member for 5mans, so you can get easy groups. Just throw on a 1h+shield, pop into D stance, and you're good to go.

PvP and PvE realms launched at same time : )
gotmilk0112 replied to Ellipsea's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Yeah, it totally sucks. How am I supposed to get honor kills if I can't attack someone while they're fighting a mob already?? You can't attack people who are 9 levels lower than you either! Totally unfair bullshit, I want to be able to camp quest areas and 1shot people who have no chance of fighting back! PVE realms are for CAREBEARS! -
The idea is not to be a full-time dps or healer, but a support. You don't DPS, you just keep up Shadow Weaving with rank1 Mind Flay and throw some heals/dispels/bubbles in between. And using Power Infusion to boost the mages/warlocks.
-
I'd be fine with playing a "Support" Priest like this, just throwing out a Mind Flay every 12 seconds and hitting bubbles/dispels in between. Whether or not it's viable or an improvement, not particularly sure, but I'd certainly be open to playing it, as opposed to trying to DPS full time. Plus make some gold by selling power infusion to the highest bidder

Elysium Project — Nostalrius PvP & PvE Release Date
gotmilk0112 replied to Limitless's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Kronos on suicide watch They're actively deleting any thread talking about Elysium. Kek. -
PvP servers are for the leet kiddies who want to gank people that have no chance of fighting back, so they can feel good about themselves. You can't do that on PvE servers, so naturally, the leet kiddies cry "CAREBEARS! CAREBEARS!" because apparently if you don't like being ganked and corpse camped, you're a "carebear"

Best Hanukkah present ever.

I mean really long fights, like 10min+ stuff. Nef, C'thun, etc. Spriest mana just can't keep up because you only have mana potions and runes. In full T2/T3 gear, sure, you'll get a bit more longevity, but on those really long fights, you'll OOM yourself really fast if you do full DPS.
-
Yeah, on super long fights, Spriest pretty much stands around and hits 1 spell every 12 seconds to keep up Shadow Weaving. If you try to DPS the whole time, you're gonna be oom real fast. Only reason why Spriest works in MC is because almost all of the bosses are only 2-3 minute fights.
-
Because lots of people enjoy the idea of a complete fresh start server where everyone starts off new.

http://i.imgur.com/uMlO7KJ.png Quite a few, but I don't use all of them at once. I've already got my setup ready from playing on other servers.

What I mean is that even after running all this stuff, I'm not really noticing any difference, outside of more grass/objects on the ground. Yes, I looked at the screenshots, and didn't really see any fog in the distance, but after running these, the fog is still very visible. https://puu.sh/sD84d/28cd5fba98.jpg -
You can also get Cookie's Stirring Rod from Deadmines, which you're going to be doing anyways for quests.

Eh, maybe I'm expecting too much from it. I still see lots of fog in the distance. -
Server openings are unstable laggy messes. There's really nothing you can do to mitigate it, outside of setting super low player caps, which nobody likes.

Feral and Boomkin don't do much DPS themselves, but they bring useful buffs (crit for melee and crit for casters) as well as innervates and battle rezzes.

The Greatest list of Pros vs. Cons on what server to play.
gotmilk0112 replied to Applesauce's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Yeah, I said "patch 1.10 / 1.11", that was when Blizz buffed a lot of 5man gear (especially stuff from early BRD bosses) and added stuff like that. -

gotmilk0112 replied to Applesauce's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Especially once patch 1.10 (or was it 1.11?) drops, and 5man loot gets buffed. фекал like Mantle of Lost Hope is almost as good, if not on par with, T2 gear.
