Well, basically they can. BUT. Back then, the Nost-Team decided to close their servers. They were not really forced to. The Elysium-Team said, they will not shut the servers down like Nost did. And actually, there are so many servers out there and Blizzard does not give a sh*t. I don't think they will shutdown so quickly, so enjoy the game :)

Well, there is your problem. If the config-files inside the WoW folder are read-only, none of your settings will be saved. Usually this can be solved by right-clicking the folder and unchecking this option (also for all subfolders). Depending on the rights settings of your local maschine, this might require admin rights.

Calm down guys. Unfortunately its not that easy just to write down names. Surely, there is a log/history of those activities, but you have only 2 options. 1) you go throgh that list manually. which wont be possible since this woud be a full time job. and 2) create an algorithm to sort those guys out automatically which might result in false positives and ban of innocent players. As I mentioned in some other post, even blizzard and all those other huge companies are not able to shut down gold spammers entirely. and as long there are people buying gold from them, they will develop new methods to avoid anti-spam actions taken against them.

I am also still not sure what professions to choose for the start. Herb/Alch is quite popular for obvious reasons. But I am also taking into consideration to start with Mining/Engineering. Bombs are quite useful, especially in PvP, some other items are also quite nice, like Force Reactive Disk

Same here. But I used the time so far to try out different classes/races I usally never play. for example, I have been qesting for the first time in silverpine forest :D The last week I will enjoy some sleep at night, which will be lost on release ^^

Since there is no such topic yet: !!! HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAR ELYSIUM TEAM !!! Thank you for all your efforts so far and all the best for the upcomming challenges keeping the servers up and running. Also happy new year to the whole nost/elysium community! Lets start a new awesome year of good old vanilla wow together. Last but not least, my wish for the upcomming year regarding elysium: Start enjoying this awesome game we used to love and stop hating each other because of server preferences ;) ... make love, not warcraft.

PvP Servers somehow tend do be more horde than alliance. No idea why there are so many allliance guild forming, but I think at the end it will 50:50 +/- 2

That would just shift to problem to the next area. At launch of the Nost servers it was quite hard to finish the start zone, but at the end, everyone managed to proceed. It will take its time.

Well, allthough I am not sure how much effort they really put into it, even Blizzard can't handle gold spam. And so I am not sure if a relatively small team can manage that :-/ As long there are people using their services they always will develop a new way to spam around, no matter what the devs do.

then you have some typo in it. ".account password" is clear text. not your actual password example: your password is 1234 and you want to change it to 5678 it will be: ".account password 1234 5678 5678"
