For leveling and better survival/less downtime purposes I'd definitely start with 5 points in shield specialization, then imp ghost wolf and lightning shield. Basically what Eukal presented, these are probably the most efficient leveling builds. Focus on the enhancement tree more at first, since you won't be casting that many spells anyways. Also, I don't think you need any points in resto tree to heal majority of dungeons. Just use your healing spells wisely, downrank, etc. Good luck!

Yeah, I agree with that. They are definitely different. So why would they call a different product the same name as the old one? Obviously because they can make more money this way, disguising it as the old successful genre it isn't anymore. Releasing a new "expansion" with old, revamped content and is much easier than creating a brand new MMO which they should have done a long time ago. If they cared more about their image than the money, ofc. Also, an important thing to notice in here is, that you can't actually treat them as "independent games". If that was the case, we all should be able to play older expansions, as we had paid for them.

It's not hatred really, I'm just disappointed. I used to consider Blizzard the rolemodel company in their field. Warcraft series, Starcraft, Diablo 1 and 2, WoW obviously - they were all great and I'm really grateful I was able to experience most of those titles in their full glory. I still enjoy some Hearthstone from time to time, but modern WoW or Diablo are just abominations. I've heard similar opinions on SC2 but haven't played this series that much myself so idk. And the common knowledge is that even though the company name remains the same, it is not the same team who were the godfathers of their success.

I have no idea how the two realms are going to absorb these numbers on the 17th There's probably another 20k players like myself who are rolling anew and/or didn't care about their old toons. What do you mean? The above are not transfers TO but FROM those realms. I don't see how that can affect Elysium PvP.

Man, this is so true. Lorewise both Legion and WoD are just remakes of some of the most successful masterpieces Blizzard of old has released. Really bad remakes, obviously, as one can rarely improve an existing masterpiece. People have been speculating about the return of Illidan just before the release of WoD iirc, getting hyped as usual, so yeah, let's give him to them. Let's make him a hero this time, walking the redemption path, people will love it! It's such a bullsh.it... Or reviving arguably the best realm in WoW's history - Outland/Draenor - in WoD. Again, poor content concealed behind nostalgia of the days of old. I'm ashamed to admit they got me there as I have bought both of the above expansions and quit after about a month each time. Guess I'm just a nostalgic lore nerd. Well played Blizzard, you can scam some people off of their money but at the expense of their trust.

"Progressive" refers to the content of the classic wow for now, there's an idea of TBC somewhere in the back of the devs heads but nothing is set in stone. Even if it was, it's going to be many months (or years) from now. And nothing has been said about WotLK, afaik.

FAQ from the sticky thread in General Discussion, not that hard to find, but you asked politely at least so there you go: Q: what's the ETA on the fresh start Elysium server? A: There is no date yet, however we can ensure you that we’re working day and night on getting everything and everyone ready for launch as soon as possible. There is still much to do and the last thing we want to do is release the servers before they are ready. Q: Will the fresh server follow the original Nostalrius timeline? The original timeline has Dire Maul release at 3 months in and BWL at 7 months, that's just extremely slow and I can only imagine this timeline was used since the content needed to be scripted. Now the content already exists so perhaps an accelerated timeline (similar pace to the original Elysium server) would be in order? A: The current plan is to release the fresh server in the same way both Nostalrius realms opened and Elysium opened, with Dire Maul closed. The timeline pace is still under discussion and will be revealed in a future announcement.

Really cool stuff, thanks for sharing. I find the above particularly interesting though. They gave TBC 10 for multiplayer and 8(!?) for storyline. Makes me wonder what score Legion would get...

You are right about the classes differences in here of course. I just wanted to point out that every class can make gold, just not in the same way. I would still rather find my niche than level a new char just for farming. That would bore me to death, even if it was ONLY 100 hours. About a week ago I was in your shoes. Pretty sure I wanted to start freshy fresh, didn't really care about my old character since I wanna play another class and faction this time. But then I found this thread (https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=23914), which I really recommend you to look into. I'm not going to repeat the reasons listed in there, just wanted to say that I have made up my mind and going for a new character in the old PvP Nost. Now, go ahead and read it for yourself but if I were you, I'd stick to your old warlock, unless you want to change the faction or race. Have fun!

Your statement seems a bit contradictory to me, do you find little enjoyment being in greens or you think it's not about the loot? Personally, I find farming MC, BRD, DM etc (for the 100th time) even less entertaining, and this is what happens when there are 10 people rolling for every single item. It's not about the loot, sure, but you need it to help your guild with the upcoming content or in pvp. Which brings me to my next point. I do find wpvp (and pvp in general) extremely fun and entertaining. Just saying that first weeks (or possibly months) of Elysium will be horrible. Not fun at all, even if you LOVE pvp as much as I do. I'm quite confident that in contested zones you will spend more time running to your corpse than fighting back. Not fun at all, unless you have a different view on that.

FYP, mate I'm pretty sure leveling in the old realms will be tens times faster and getting tier gear from raids much easier when playing with guys who don't roll against you for every single epic that drops. But hey, its all about the journey and dying is ok! Valar Morghulis, after all

Given that you need about 200+ hours of gameplay to level a character to 60, I'm not quite sure if leveling an alt just for farming purposes is worth the effort. Just a simple calculation, I'd rather spent that time farming with my main, there are plenty of guides online and just like others have said, anybody decently geared can farm just fine.

On a different note, Im really grateful for this topic. You guys have made me really looking forward to rolling a fresh character on Nost PvP realm, even though at first I was pretty sure the new Elysium realm is the place to go. I'm pretty positive people like me will be able to catch up in no time and hope the server will maintain a healthy several thousand population.
