If a war effort item needs to be completed by the Admins, delete all of that item from the server
Forest_ replied to Lorilay's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I have to second this. Firebloom is THE mage herb for the best fire consume in the game, which will be the new main spec going forward. Even if the server has 2,000,000 Firebloom stacked up 99% of mages aren't going to give up a 35g a stack item for 75 rep or a 1.5g vendor green. This is the equivalent of asking Alliance only to turn in 425,000 elemental earth. A useful upcoming consume is almost never going to get finished. Don't jump the gun yet though, lets wait a few weeks and see what starts happening to mats as others complete. -
@Link - When can we expect to hear back from the QA team in regards to PTR testing applications?

Horde need to pick it up on the War Effort
Forest_ replied to Forest_'s topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Here are the facts of the situation: 1. Horde had MANY fewer guilds return after the relaunch. Even though Horde have a larger population, a sizable portion of the Horde are people in unorganized, non high-end raiding guilds who probably don't care when the War Effort gets completed, which makes them less likely to be willing to turn in or farm materials. 3 days or 3 months makes no difference to the Horde in question. 2. Day 1 materials turn in will always be the highest daily contribution total of any day because of the hype & stockpile. 3. Horde has turned in barely 1% of multiples of materials that aren't leather. At the current rate that Horde are turning in Firebloom and Tin bars (currently 6,600 of 425,000 = 1.55%) we can expect Firebloom alone to take another (100% / 1.55%) 65 days, which is May 8th, 2017. The desired length of the War Effort stated in the patch notes was 3-4 weeks, this is over 34 days longer than the hopeful estimates. There are a multitude of materials, namely Firebloom, Tin Bars, and some of the Fish that had WAY too high of a multiplier given to them. Technically it might be Blizzlike to last for 2-3 months in the War Effort which by all accounts is fine if that is the intended plan that the Admins and QA staff would like to go. But just be aware that at the current rate of turn in we will be participating in the War Effort for 2-3 months due to the low activity of the Horde -
Horde need to pick it up on the War Effort
Forest_ replied to Forest_'s topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It's not a matter of getting it done this weekend, if you look at the Horde contributions the most you're going to get in a day is day 1. They've contributed like less than 1% of the total items they need that aren't leather. It's actually really worrying, we're going to be waiting for them for a long time. -

Whats the deal with the PTR, how do we get in contact to help test? -
Do you want to know EXACTLY where AQ stands as of 2/28/17? Well here you go. So I was just reading through some of the AQ scripts and found that they actually have a completeness counter at the top of the files with comments about what needs to be done, pretty cool if you ask me! Also it really does look like they're using their own core, I compared a bunch of Anathema AQ files to Nostalrius AQ files using BeyondCompare and they're completely different scripts. As you can see Cogfather was 100% truthful in his Q&A over the weekend by stating that they thought AQ was 80% done, that number was taken directly from the developers source code. Here are the screen shots I compiled from the Anathema core source code:

LF Mage & DPS Warrior Apply at http://scubacops.shivtr.com -
Cutting it pretty close to AQ release with that first nef kill :P Congratz to you guys regardless! Killing Nef as Horde in a progressing guild is no easy task, those fear+shadowflame combos can be RNG wipe fests if you get unlucky. (Also a friendly warrior tip for you: make sure you're spamming Hamstring when Bloodthirst / Whirlwind are on CD, it can proc Windfury!)

Enable 2 factor authentication in the Control Panel. Choose the option to prompt you for the 2FA 6 digit code when you attempt to log in from a different IP than your last one. Type in your 2FA code, login, play. No suspicion if you have 2FA enabled, it is literally impossible to be hacked with 2FA unless someone steals your smart phone too. Everyone should have 2FA enabled on all their accounts, EVERYONE.

Maybe they thought this was a good practice and decided to keep the formatting? Idk that is definitely a noteworthy find so I won't discount that very quickly. It's looking like some guilds will be doing the PTR here after the big announcement so we'll know more then.
-
Literally wait like 1 day, maybe 2 and they're announcing the War Effort patch. Cogfather said this in his Q&A for everyone to hear. The sky is not falling. AQ is pretty much complete, go read the code yourself or ask questions if you're interested in what it looks like they have left to fix.
-
What an incredibly well thought out and insightful addition this discussion. /s The classic "put random completion percentages in our code" that every developer does just to confuse anyone reading their code. If you're really that cynical go read the code for yourself. I didn't bother posting the actual lines of code because they're available to everyone now, but there are "TODO" comments in the remaining code that explains what there is left to do (see how that works?). Here is what I see when I skim the code: ----- Ouro they need to add the burrowing animation (Non critical fix, could be released today) Twin emps they want to make a small adjustment to when one of the mobs starts attacking if no one is in range after a teleport (Rare scenario where 0 people are in range after a TP) Battleguard Sartura they are just confirming that they have the correct "ENRAGE" spell_ID from the database (Non critical fix, could be released today) Cthun the code seems correct but they want to adjust the heallth/damage values to make it so it is in its correct pre-nerf state. (Non critical fix, could be released today in post-nerf state) There is also a trash pack that they want to make sure is working correctly in terms of what spells it casts when. ----- To put it more simply, AQ looks pretty done, they want a couple guilds to test some bosses, tweak some HP/Damage values and its good. Most of the work they're doing is for the 1.9 patch itself, it updates HUNDREDS of items, quests, rep, NPC scripts, etc.
-
Calm down. If you bothered to watch the Q&A with Cogfather in discord this past weekend you would've heard that they will be announcing the date of the War Effort patch (1.9) this week, midweek, AQ is stated to be about 80% or more complete, mechanics all working properly with only damage and health values to fine tune. There will be a PTR of select guilds going in and helping the QA team test the final couple of bosses to make sure everything is how they want it to be. They will release the War Effort when AQ is around 90-95% complete, which is only about 10% to go. TLDR - Very soon TM. All info you could ever want in 2-3 days.

Nice Rank Points distribution !
Forest_ replied to Duron's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
This sounds like a knowledge problem. Most people get 300-400k when ranking up to 10 to be safe. 170k honor is not that much at all, if you BG for like 2 days any random pug can get that, and they do. -
Yeah I'm basically with Pest on this one. Even though I don't believe the accusations that have been thrown around I couldn't care less if someone is becoming a billionaire because of this project on the side. I just want a well scripted server with AQ and Naxx eventually. Fuck going to TBC even at this point, I just want vanilla to be finished with 40 of my best friends. Give me raids, I don't care about this side show bullshit.

Titans caught knowingly exploiting a known bug then being ported out of BWL by Pottu. For shame.
