    Anathema PvP — Unexpected Downtime

The server provider they use, OVH, is a server hosted in France so its just now the middle of the day there. Also the most important part is that charging back such a large sum of money, $2,000, triggered an automatic "FRAUD" detection service that any and every large business has in place. From the point of view of OVH they were scammed out of $2000 after providing a service. It will take a series of phone calls with the OVH billing department to unlock the account and allow the server to come back online. You can thank the butthurt children who back charged their direct DONATION to the server.

    Anathema PvP — Unexpected Downtime

With the Chinese donation google doc, the money tallied in Discord last night, and the hundreds of random donations not accounted for I think its safe to say Anathema just gained somewhere in the neighborhood of $6,000-$7000 USD. $6,500 - $2,000 charge back = $4,500 If the server costs $400-$500 a month to run we just paid for the server for potentially 10 months. GOOD. FUCKING. JOB. EVERYONE. Charge back one dollar, three more will take it's place. HAIL HYDRA!

    The Gates of Ahn’Qiraj

No Gemt is a very good open source developer and he was one of the few people to be able to get his own 'test server' up and running for his guild to practice AQ on. There is no documentation as to how to do it so us less experienced developers are unable to open our own test server.

    Anathema PvP — Unexpected Downtime

The irony of this situation is the guild that did the $2000 charge back might have just banded the server together to donate more money in a giant wave than they even had in the first place.

    Anathema PvP — Unexpected Downtime

What a shitty thing to do. Maybe don't give $2,000 dollars at a time to something if you're going to fraudulently take it back.
  9. Pretty cool idea, Overtime. Top kek @ copper bars still not being completed even on the Blizzlike scale. No one likes farming those things! ONE THOUSAND PERCENT COMPLETE ON THORIUM, ARTHAS, AND RUGGED LEATHER!
  10. It would be awesome if someone could post a how to, or even a video of how to set up the emulation environment. It looks like every man for himself right now so I don't think there are a lot of people contributing just yet. I know there's one guy in discord that is working through all the problems and is going to write a HOW TO soon, but if we could get an official one that'd be super cool!

    The War Effort Continues!

Thanks for the posts gh0un, even if you don't like people like me, people like me still want to help move the effort forward! Let's go farm mats so we're closer than we were before once they bring the numbers down! :)

    The War Effort Continues!

I have been farming quite a bit thanks! Also the fact that you're not even going for the mount and you're sitting on a bunch of mats makes even less sense than before. No one is begging you to turn them in, go post them on the AH or something, or just admit that you'd rather just look at a shiny bank full of War Effort materials forever so the admins can adjust the numbers (like they said they would) because of people like you. You haven't done anything wrong, the admins just made the mistake of thinking everyone with materials would turn them in. WoW for you is clearly an economy game, everyone plays the game differently. And the Admins will have to adjust the numbers accordingly, all will be ok. Your post is actually incredibly important for the Admins to see since now we understand there are people with stockpiled mats with no real intention of helping the effort, you posting here was actually quite productive in a way you may not have intended. So for that I thank you!

    The War Effort Continues!

I think you think you're WAY smarter than you actually are, being the "last" guild to turn in a material literally benefits you exactly 0. The War Effort quest chain will require you to: 1) Farm 36,000 brood rep with all carapaces being BoP 2) Multiple raid lockouts 3) Over a week of running around the world completing the most ridiculous quests The first part alone is a matter of effort, if some guild logs on a day later than you and you've been farming rep for a little bit all it takes is that guild to stay online when you go to sleep. Your mindset is that of /r/iamverysmart, you think you've come up with great master plan when in reality you've actually just revealed yourself as someone who thinks they understand how patch 1.9 on Anathema works, but in reality, has no clue. Or you do understand how it works but you think this "advantage" you're going to gain will matter literally at all. Unless you have stockpiled 500,000 materials yourself, every single person on the server will be watching the turn ins like a hawk when it reaches 90%+, you think "bombing" a couple thousand materials will give you an advantage of hours? It won't even buy you a couple of minutes, there will be War Effort turn in trackers constantly for the guilds that matter every second of every day once there is even a slight smell of the War Effort finishing in the next week.
  15. This mindset is exactly why we're failing. Awful mindset to have. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_loafing Social loafing: In social psychology, social loafing is the phenomenon of a person exerting less effort to achieve a goal when they work in a group than when they work alone.[1][2] This is seen as one of the main reasons groups are sometimes less productive than the combined performance of their members working as individuals, but should be distinguished from the accidental coordination problems that groups sometimes experience.

    The War Effort Continues!

I'm serioulsy doubting that there are guilds with stockpiled mats who refuse to turn them in. At this point the War Effort has started, those stockpiles are either on random accounts who don't care about the War Effort, or don't know the War Effort exists at all. I seriously doubt someone has a bank alt sitting around with 2000 copper bars, no one holds that many of a useless item in one bank. I don't doubt the server queries that Elysium ran were accurate, but I don't think that they are as concentrated as you might believe. Low level materials like copper are gained by nearly everyone from levels 1-30, people roll and quit lowbie characters all the time. There probably is 2,000,000 copper bars somewhere on the server, 5 stacks here, 4 stacks there, but I don't think they're on characters that people are even aware exist at this point.
  17. Your mats are lacking hard core compared the Alliance, don't be the limiting factor, go farm!

The War Effort will now take another 78 days with the current flow of materials. We need to look at auto complete or reduced caps.

    War Effort Conerns

Shameless plug for the public tracking sheet I made. This contains daily numbers and percentages. We're chugging along at just over 1% per day right now after the beginning rush. The solution to the problem is to ACTUALLY GO OUT AND FARM MATERIALS, don't assume everyone will do it for you. If EVERYONE assumes that EVERYONE ELSE will do it, then no one is doing it. Participate! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x03BIdgIne9SVIOc016T-eHgx-cJZkXv6sEsYXD9yh8/edit#gid=1721870152

    <NOPE> ALLIANCE [EU]

Greetings, In regards to recent events on Anathema with the 1.9 patch, the gear was unintentionally reverted to a pre buffed state on R12/13. When we build the world, it is layered with 1.12.1 initially and then it has to be subsequently “downgraded” to give us the content patch of 1.9 for example. Many of you know that this buffed state was put into place by Nostalrius prior to them shutting down and we did make a statement, saying that the PvP gear would not be touched on Anathema due to the length of time that the gear was made available to everyone who chose to put in the effort to grind to R12/13. We understand the efforts of all the dedicated PvP’ers out there and we are actively listening to our community, we want you to know that we will revert the gear on Anathema PvP, because as of now it would be far too late to undo what was already in place. Had we removed it at the start of the relaunch, that would have been a different story. Further note, Darrowshire, Elysium and Zeth’Kur will have their R12/13 gear put to the proper stats of their pre-buffed state as that was not implemented by Nostalrius prior to relaunch. Elysium staff would like to note, that C’Thun got a little upset and stole all your gear. The items will be reverted tomorrow back to their previous state. We do want to mention that we are sorry to all the dedicated PvP’ers out there and we wish you good luck in your future battles. Sincerely, Elysium Staff ----- So what now?
  21. Good from the team. +1 from me On a related note to Are there any updates to be had about AQ PTR testing? Would love to know about those guild invites!

    PVP GEAR NERF.

You told the entire server last month that it was "too far gone" and that people had been used to r13 gear forever so you were just going to leave it in. Why did you randomly change your mind about nerfing PvP gear?
  23. It isn't an issue of greed, I spent a lot of time farming up an absolutely stupid amount of Elemental Earth because I knew they would be virtually unobtainable once AQ was out (pretty accurate atm). Players are smart, they know what patch influences what items and consumables and plan for the future. If I was a mage and had 2000 Firebloom stacked up that I spent over a year farming or buying do you really think I'd want to give those up and relinquish myself to another 1000 hours of farming just to get back to where I was? To put it simply, it was a bit of an error for the materials to be scaled off of what was already available on the server for pricey/hard to farm consumables. We will just have to get out in the world and farm those items slowly but surely over the next month or so to get it done. Also I'm under the impression that once certain materials are completed and the "light at the end of the tunnel" gets more visible people MIGHT be more willing to turn in a fraction of their stock piled materials, but certainly not all of them.
