  1. I suppose its not a bad option. The problem is that the Elysium community is filled with people that jump ship at the first sign of trouble. Once TBC is about to launch, and the transfer is enabled, some (maybe not that many) will transfer. This will in turn make other people transfer in order not to get stucked in the new "dead realm", and so on, and so on. Pretty much, the TBC realm will kill the vanilla realms. Now this is a given for Anathema, but considering we are at the end of the vanilla period anyway we don't really see it as a bad thing, but for Elysium players who re in the mid stage of vanilla, it could be trouble. If the admins wish to keep Elysium up and growing, they need to keep it as a Vanilla realm, and make Anathema the focus of TBC. Given a high number of former Anathema players are currently playing in Warmane TBC, it is expected they will return here. Also, we will get our own market for new players that are looking for a TBC realm instead of vanilla. It would be a win/win for everyone, because we don't really need to take players away from Elysium. Now, if we allow transfers from Elysium, that kills the realm. In all honesty I think the best solution is to allow Elysium players to transfer right now or never at all. This will show which players do truly want TBC, and are willing to wait for it in our realm (in which they can still play, and gather gear/gold/mats/etc), from those that are only planning to jump ship to the new hot thing out of fear of being stucked. But thats me, and that is the only way we can have 2 different realms that cater to different public. As for darrowshire, they should be allowed to transfer to Anathema too if they want.
  2. That is an option. The downside is that, in the process, you will be removing a lot of people from the Elysium community. The other problem is that Elysium players are not ready to make the sacrifice. We don't know when TBC is coming out. Would Elysium players be ready to transfer now and wait with us? Or do they want to enjoy Elysium as much as they can, and simply be able to transfer 1 week before TBC launches?
  3. Elysium is mid-progression through vanilla, Anathema is at the end about to engage in Nax. There is no practical reason as to why they should transfer Elysium players into the TBC realm, and kill the realm. I presume their intention is to have a realm of every old expansion. Consider that the TBC launch is in part fueled in order to revive Anathema, and pretty much the entire (vocal/forum active) Anathema community (at least whats left of us) wants this change. We do not know how many people from Elysium want to have TBC right now. To us, there is really no other choice in order to revive the realm, to you its a matter of choosing between TBC or Vanilla. Now, the best thing for the realm community, would be to have Elysium as the vanilla realm, and Anathema and Darrow to merge into a TBC realm, so this community can cater to a large array of players. However, in your case, you are asking for the community to cater to your individual needs. Us Anathema players sticked to a dying realm for months, and pushed for this change (many have been promoting the idea of TBC for months now). So playing first is the reward we get. ------- Again, if you want TBC in this community, you are more than welcome to level in Anathema.
  4. The best idea would be to have 2 realms, one in Vanilla the other in TBC. I find quite hypocritical that elysium players now want to get transfers to Anathema, or for it to wait until Elysium catches up, given the possibility of it becoming the only TBC realm. As far as I remember, when Anathema players asked for a merge, they were unkindly rejected by Elysium players. Where is that attitude now? Having multiple TBC realms in different timelines will simply create the same problem that has been going on for months. Besides there is no reason as to why they would want to make Elysium into tbc too, neither as to why Anathema players should wait for it to catch up. Let Anathema become a TBC realm, the remining community in this realm completly supports it. Let Elysium players play vanilla, or reroll in Anathema. They have enough time to get a lvl 60 toon before TBC comes out, and start in the same quality (blue leveling gear is equal to Nax gear, so there is no excuse).

    How to save Anathema

Who of the players posting here would accept a transfer from Anathema to Elysium with an item downgrade/removal of AQ items? I would. Just wish to check for the general opinion-

    How to save Anathema

Just allow transfers from Anathema to Elysium, removing items from AQ patch and so on. Saving Anathema as a standalone realm was imposible from the start.
  7. Making this topic to see everyone's opinion. I'm in favour of a merger between Anathema and Darrowshire, however, until that argument is well discussed and settled, perhaps we could apply a cross-realm function for bgs between both realms. At least for pugs only (so we don't get an anathema premade farming a darrowshire one). The patch and gear diference between both realms isn't much, and the pvp community is suffering a lot in both realms. Perhaps this could help bring back battlegrounds. I'm not sure how ranking would be handled, I suppose pvp ranks would still be for each realm individually. As for Elysium, it would be nice if they want to join too, I have no idea how Elysium's pvp community is right now. If we apply this for Pugs only, gear difference won't really matter, cause every side would get a mix of players from each realm.
  8. That seems like a reasonable and legit argument as to why not to do it. Thnx for reading the idea, but nvm the proposal then. Close topic if you wish.
  9. Let me see if I get your point: you state something will not work, and your reason is that you "think" it "may" not be possible because of the client, despite that cross-bgs do work for the 1.12 patch. And in any case what would be the technical limitation of the client?. At most the limitation would have to be from server-side connection between both realms, which is different from what you've stated Not trying to be unpleasent here, but an argument of faith based on a weird assumption is just as useless as providing no argument at all :/
  10. Please behave like an adult and provide an actual argument as to why it wouldn't work. Pointless one liners do nothing to either help or prevent the implementation of a good/bad idea. Otherwise, the children's forum section is this way, and is perhaps more suited for you: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/
  11. http://wow.gamepedia.com/Patch_1.12.0 Patch 1.12.0: For the first time in the history of World of Warcraft, you will be able to face off against players from other realms in the Battlegrounds. PvP Battlegrounds link Alterac Valley, Warsong Gulch, and Arathi Basin so that players from several realms will be combined into one huge matchmaking pool. Replenish your mana, sharpen your blades, and get ready for some brand-new challengers! So cross-realm BGs in vanilla are blizzlike, and were infact implemented to deal with this sort of problems. In a PUG environment, both teams will have a mix of players from both realms. So in essence it will be sort of balanced. The problem would be from the premade perspective in which an Anathema premade could have the advantage over a Darrowshire premade. Even so the diference beween realm patchs isn't that high an the gear is, while not equal, not distant in total power. However, you can enable this only for PUGs or whatever, given that my porposal is not a final product of what we could implement. The idea is to have more battlegrounds popping each day, as we used to have, because instanced pvp is really dead in both realms. I do agree Anathema and Darrowshire should be merged, but until that happens this is a minor solution to some of the problems both of them face.
  12. This is actually rare in Anathema now days. Extremely rare. There may be 1 or 2 pvp rogues ganking around blackrock mountain, but I haven't seen an guild doing this since January. The truth is that guilds ignore each other and simply want to raid. Regarding pvp while farming, most farming zones in Anathema are pretty empty. There used to be a heavy competition months ago, for example, on Satyr's in Felwood, but now days its pretty empty. The only little world pvp I have experienced while farming herbs is maybe when you and an enemy player both try to get the same node, and it usually ends up with someone getting +10 sec CC and the other player farming the node then leaving. Most people ignore each other. Don't get me wrong, world pvp still exists in Anathema, but its much lower than before, lvl 60's rarely attack low level towns and if they do its usually 1 guy trying to grief the flight master, and at most is a minor annoyance for anyone focusing on PVE. The truth is most players left in Anathema focus in pve and just want to farm mats and raid. PvP is active in weekend battlegrounds, but that is pretty much it.
  13. In TBC there was a change for HoTs coming from different players, but I haven't found anything conclusive about different ranks or improved versions of the spell being implemented either. Patch 2.0.1: HoTs from different sources will now stack (i.e. multiple druids can cast the Rejuvenation spell on 1 target). http://wow.gamepedia.com/Patch_2.0.1

    Farewell

It doesn't really prove it by itself, because it does not provide factual evidence that it did (no screenshot, video, patch note, official forum posting, etc). What it does, when combined with other sources of similar weak statements, is verify that on the very least it was a popular assumption at the time. It may very well be a mechanic at the time, but the sources drawn for this conclusion lack substantiability in order to keep judgement effect stacking implemented.

    Farewell

Only very little in the last patch of vanilla before TBC came out, so I have no functional knowledge of vanilla wow, aside from leveling to 60 (never got to seriously raid). Also please don't take my questions as an attempt to put down the argument in favour of rank stacking. However, the problem is that personal experience does not qualify as evidence to support a mechanic without factual proof. And the mechanic itself, of having different ranks of judgement stacking is quite controversial, given no other spell of similar nature does that. So it is highly understandble that almost everyone would question it.
  16. Dralek

    Farewell

Well, the blog is still weak evidence just as the forum post, as in the opinion of a not very serious paladin. However, I do agree that compiled both do bring some evidence that the mechanic might have worked (whether intentional or not) that way at some early patch, and may have been popular knowledge that seals did indeed stack. However given that the same evidence also states that it was removed at some point (supposedly in patch 1.8), what would be the reason to apply the mechanic to our current realms? The realms operate on class mechanics and talents from patch 1.12, and all the spells work that way. Even if there was a mechanic that used to work in a different manner, lets say in patch 1.4 maybe, what would be the point of applying it? If we did apply this unintended mechanic, then shouldn't we also apply all the mechanics according to patch for every class?
  17. Dralek

    Farewell

But the only evidence provided that this might have existed is a forum poster (not official forum) saying that this used to happen. That doesn't really have much value. Furthermore he speaks of Seal of Light, an jumps to assume this includes all seals. Coul have been a bug related only to that particular seal mechanic. According to the poster, all seals stack. If this was the case, there would probably be a lot of evidence for this, given that multiple ranks of Light and Wisdom would have been amazing for any raid group, thus making it a very popular exploit back in the day :S- Its not an actual screenshot, video or official forum posting that this used to happen prior to patch 1.8 (or after for the matter), until BC ptr videos.

    Farewell

One question, and I'm not trying to stirr up anything, but what is the actual evidence of the seals stacking prior to patch 1.8? One forum poster saying "yes this used to happen" as a side comment on an unnoficial wow forum isn't really evidence in the first place. Its essentially the same thing of someone saying "I remember it used to happen".

    Shadow Priest gear priority

Their argument, while solid, doesn't really matter given it is a pug. You join a PuG to get your personal upgrades and gear that you seek. If it is an upgrade to your class in raids, then take it. You are there to care about your progression, not theirs, and as long as you are not rolling on downgrades or off-spec loot there is nothing that should be said to you. Unless they specifically mention class priorities as part of the run before it starts, and apply the bis mentality to every single item that drops, they were in the wrong (because if that was the case, as a shadow priest you are low priorityt on everything, and probably wouldn't join them). Its their fault, not yours. It this was a guild run, then yes, other classes should have a certain priority, given that as a guild you all progress together. But that is another story.

Spellpower coefficient fix (RIP rank 3 HT)

I'm quite the noob when it comes to theorycrafting, but is it possible that this fix completly ruined the SP coefficient of regrowth? Cause right now the direct heal of my regrowth max rank doesn't seem to gain almost any +healing at all.

    Rank 1 rez...

It saves money on the trainer :P
  23. Hello, I was considering rolling a hunter alt. After reading many posts, I kept finding stuff such as "hunter doesn't scale as well in later content", or that they are referred to as "mid tier dps" (similar to druids being the lower tier healers). However I was scrolling around in realmplayers, and checking fights from the top guilds to check how well hunters performed. I am amazed to find that, while in the charts hunters are rarely in the "top 10", I always find that the combination of the hunter's total damage with that of its pet, would give incredible high numbers in damage. For example, this is Coalition's first raid in recently released AQ in Anathema: http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidOverview.aspx?Raid=69600 Hunter's final numbers re 11th and 10th place. But if you would add the total damage from their pets to each, they would rank quite higher. I understan this are the top hunters, but unless I'm missing something (or the addon doesn't record damage properly), or perhaps because we are still with BWL gear, wouldn't this mean hunters are capable of great dps? Just asking, I'm considering making a hunter alt, and wished to get all the info, without the bias of urban myths that plague vanilla.

"Mid tier DPS" just an urban myth?

This sort of answers my question (I was indeed missing something :P) Thnx all. (:

    Herb Respawn Changes

This. We also need to take into consideration that many of the usual farming spots for players were nerfed to combat gold farmers. So, as a player generating gold takes longer now, and makes it even harder to afford said consumables.
