i suppose the point is, that it's a forum that is driven by the community. does someone need to really be a mediator and try to direct the flow of conversation one way or another? "cut the spam" just doesn't make sense to me. if an overwhelmingly large group of people begin talking about off-topic matters in a thread, that's literally just people talking. if someone makes a far-fetched conspiracy theory regarding the project, is that so harmful to where it needs to be censored? is that harmful at all? perhaps the point I'm trying to make, is everyone comes to forums and posts for their own reasons, maybe some people like to troll, maybe some people like to discuss important matters, maybe some people come here for other reasons. Pottu has his own compass of how he likes to use forums but that shouldn't be the rails on which everyone else has to adhere to

@killerduki i was a regular poster and reader of the official blizzard forums for my realm back in Vanilla and TBC. I just don't remember moderators who were anywhere as heavy handed as what i've seen from Pottu. it was a VERY rare occurrence that someone's post would be deleted or edited by a moderator. discussion developed organically and everyone had a great time. as unfunny as the meme is, there was an instance I remember where people were making Chuck Norris jokes or something along those lines, or linking Thunderfury, everyone was enjoying themselves roleplaying as annoying twelve year olds on retail Vanilla, and Pottu had to step in and literally tell people to change topics or risk a mute or something? it just seems a little too strong.....

it was in your thread that I saw pottu make edits/delete posts that inspired me to say something on the matter. so someone was likely flaming you and in response you were probably flaming him back and that's all well and good but then pottu pops in to tell you guys to cool it and just put eachother on ignore was it his business to begin with? were you being so out of line to where he needed to delete or edit your posts?

genuine question - i know you're a GM and it's your job to make sure people aren't doing illegal things or posting extremely offensive things but how come over the past year or so, time and time again you've come into threads butting into conversations that don't concern you, are between two people (who aren't you) and you have to like put your own little spin on things, edit people's messages, and just be sort of nosy? i had a girlfriend one time who would do this - always had something to say about every little thing, even when no one is talking to her, or it doesn't concern her in any way, I'm not with her anymore and everyone thought she was literally the worst if you've got to edit this post or ban me or somehow punish me for asking this then so be it, I'm not trying to be mean or rude or anything it's just something that's sort of bugged me for a while. GM's and moderators are important so that people aren't posting spam or porn or just being completely out of line but I feel often times you're very heavy-handed with your power and presence on both the nost forums and here.. are people not allowed to dislike each other? fond memories of the official WoW forums from back in the day - what was fun was logging into them and reading the latest in drama, daily happenings, and lots of @ posts at notable forum regulars on your respective server. the blizzard forum mods tended to let the people to their own devices and hash things out. something to think about (: not intended as a troll post or trying to flame Pottu but I know I'm not the only one who thinks this, we're all just sort of biting our tongues because historically I think bringing anything up has resulted in some sort of ban or punishment.
