Depends mostly on which faction you play. Holy paladins are brick-wall hard counters to hunters. Your viper sting is useless, wing clip is useless, and you will do no damage to them. Shaman can at least dispel viper sting like paladins but most, especially enhancement shaman, do not do this because they tunnel vision dps and do not know how to support other players. Ret paladins seem to be much better at this in general. But again, a geared holy paladin will be literally impossible for you to kill and extremely difficult for you to cc even if they are by themselves. You will go oom trying to kill them before their mana dips below even 90%, their blessing of freedom has 80% uptime when specced properly and they can bubble out of your trap if they feel that they need to. That is if they don't have a priest or another paladin around to cleanse them which they probably will in group pvp. So in most situations you can do literally nothing against them. Point being, if you want to play a hunter for pvp, do not roll horde. I am saying this from experience having a very geared hunter. Having blessing of wisdom as alliance will also be a very nice benefit to you.

BWL was on farm status for most guilds and most players had most of the gear they needed. I don't actually remember if the War Effort had started but I think it had. If not, it was going to start very soon.

I see your point, though I'm going to be at this school for another 3 years at the very least so it probably won't matter in the long term. I'm stretching things by playing this game in grad school in the first place so I probably won't do anything else after successfully completing Naxx, which is overall goal. Also, my previous school email hasn't been deleted since I graduated. It may exist forever or until they get someone else that happens to share the same name as me. My name wasn't bad to begin with. It was this forum name. It's a joke on how accusations of "misogyny" are thrown around until the term becomes meaningless.

I would like to know this as well. Since Nost got shut down I've graduated undergrad and am going to a different school with a different primary email. I'd also like to get my old character name back to before some social justice warrior gm made me change it.

For solo pvp, mages and warlocks have different strengths and weaknesses. A geared soul link warlock is stronger against more classes with no real counter. A good frost mage is really good against some classes but has counters such as priests and soul link/felhunter warlocks. For group pvp, warlocks are great for fear and curse of tongues, but frost mages are one of the best group pvp classes, which is why you always see premades (especially on alliance) running at least 3. A good frost mage is always valuable in group pvp, and when supported by a good holy paladin become pretty retarded, especially if you are a gnome mage with efficient use of escape artist.

You were on Nost weren't you? I fought a very good balance druid on that server quite a bit. Very good video, perfect use of feral charges.

There are only two reasons that a shadow priest should ever lose to a hunter. 1) The hunter vastly outgears you. 2) You start with low mana and the hunter drains the rest of your mana to zero before you can do much. Rogues and Warlocks have the best chances against a SP, particularly if they are Undead. But the Warlock has to be Demonology with a felhunter or they will get eaten alive. Neither of them would "dominate" a SP. It would be pretty even. Any other class should get destroyed by an SP. Edit: I agree with what Insa said. A disc priest with improved mana burn will run a SP oom fast. May not necessarily kill the SP, but the SP will be useless in pvp. The disc priest can do similar things to pretty much any mana user. When Nost got taken down I was in the middle of leveling a UD priest for the sole purpose of being a support player and mana burn troll in pvp.

Horde racials are not better than Alliance. Stoneform? Escape Artist? Perception? Shadow Meld? And Paladins? There's a reason why Alliance destroys Horde in organized group and world PvP.

The pet ability, Cower, it is literally that except reduces your own threat.
