Questions about raiding. (Looking for answers from Leadership)
Ghostly posted a topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I have a lot of questions if there is any experienced players(leadership pref) out there that can help me consume a bunch of knowledge I'm seeking. My intentions will be to lead a guild of my own on the fresh start with some close friends of mine and I'm really looking for a blueprint to raiding and to know as much as I can before I start recruiting leadership and members of my own. 1) With Flask, I notice a lot of guilds from videos don't use Flask (other than probably their tanks) in Molten Core. I assume there are certain places your guild can get by without Flask being used. I'm hoping someone very knowledgeable on the matter can tell me where Flask are "required" and where they are "highly recommended" and by your melee, casters, or both. I know it's a loaded question but I don't want to require a Flask to be used early or at all if it's really not necessary especially in a fresh start environment. 2) I notice many guilds use Loot Council compared to DKP. Why not DKP and how do you handle dealing with a roster of 40 core raiders and filling in the extras with Loot Council? 3) How many of each class/spec do you have generally among a 40 raid roster for Horde? How many tanks and healers? Also how many shadow priest, one? One or Two Nightfalls and if so, Shaman or Warrior recommended? What did i miss? 4) How do you recommend running a raid & Guild? (Taking into consideration the amount of raid leaders, class officers, core raiders, and 'extra's" when some are missing, curious to know even though I have my own idea of how I plan to do it. 5) Which add-ons do you require your members to have for raiding? Any special ones for healers, or tanks for example? Any other information that you can share and feed me that I didn't think about asking or you think I should know I'd very much appreciate it, if you don't want to post it here please just send it in a private message. Thank you for the help. -

Ghostly posted a topic in Guild Recruitment
The Thundering Legion About Us Welcome to The Thundering Legion, we're a brand new guild that is forming on the Elysium-PvP fresh start server. We're a PvE progression raiding guild who plans to take raiding very seriously. While we are a raiding guild we will have a fun and friendly community aspect to the guild as well with the Social rank for Friends or those who really want to be part of our community. If you are seeking a stable, ground solid guild then this brand new guild may not be for you, but if you are looking for a home, want to set some roots, and help us build this guild up, come join us. Due to the raid hours, we'll likely have a lot of US and EU players, but all are welcome as long as you speak English Our Goal: We want to create a mature, fun and friendly guild atmosphere with good raiding and good friends. We want members who put the guild first and work together as a team both in raids and outside of raids. Raid Times: Invites start at 18:45, raid starts at 19:00 and last until 23:00 (Server Time/GMT+1), raiders are expected to be punctual, if you will be late for good reason leave forum mail for your Class Mentor. Raid Days: Saturday & Sunday, a 3rd day will be added for ZG in the future sometime during the week. Loot: Assigned by 2 player Loot Council that rewards attendance and effort the most. Raid Spots: We assure to make room for our Core Raiders and fill in any missing spots with Raiders or Trail slots that can prove themselves and lastly Social ranks. Expected of you: You are expected to read all and understand all post in the "Guild & Raid Info" forum section before filling out an application so you know what to expect with the guild. Currently Recruiting: Competent Raid Officer, General Officers, Class Mentors, and Raiders. Read More/Apply at http://www.wow-ttl.shivtr.com/forums , visit the website, create an account to post/apply. -
I'm from the west coast (US), everyone else in my group is fine... no latency issues, I keep having dc's and ms/lag problems but my internet works 100%, my girlfriend is playing on another MMO with no MS/Latency issues, clearly can't be my internet, what gives? When this happens I get stuck on authenticating when trying to reconnect to the game.

I'm well aware it may have crashed now, but if you read my post this was happening prior but only I was getting dc'd among my party, as if it was a regional thing. Would be nice to know why.

Why people want fresh so much?
Ghostly replied to brunoviek's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It's not really an accomplishment because as you said, no-lifers. If people really want to fight for Rank 1's and competition then the raids should be locked and opened when all guilds can go in at the same time and see who is more effective in the raids. All you're doing is comparing who has no life and can sit on the PC for 2 weeks while being supported by their parents most likely vs. those who do not have a guild of 40 loafers. As far as we know the first MC guild could take 2x longer to clear than the next guild entering, do they really deserve rank 1 status? I would disagree even if the one who did clear it was the best guild because chances are there was no competition. This is like the RuneScape hiscores, if you live in your mommy's basement you'll probably be at the top of the XP gains due to your lack of real world obligations. -

I can pretty much Echo this, in addition that I've been away from Vanilla private servers for many years and with the choice, I would prefer to start from ground zero than the 100th floor with a group of my friends. Another thing is knowing the server life will be bright for at least 2-3 years where the old server will become average with Naxx out and on farm eventually for guilds. -
restoring lost characters/gold/gear etc
Ghostly replied to atre's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
At the end of the day each person is responsible for their own account security. If they have to restore stuff every time someone gets hacked then players will only be more relaxed about the matter and it will create a bigger problem for them to handle. Secondly restoring stuff allows for easy abuse, it's as simple as me taking my friends 20,000 gold. Selling it to a gold farmer only to have his gold restored after the gold was probably already resold, as you can see it creates a problem. By stating that you didn't use the same password anywhere else, you're either implying that Nost/Elysium was hacked or it wasn't your fault I'm assuming? If it was Nost/Elysium's fault, they should indeed restore it but I highly doubt they would lie about such matters. Reasons people get hacked are usually quite simple. 1) They use the same email for every server, meaning if their email is compromised their other accounts can be. 2) They used the same password and name 3) They had an extremely simple password 4) They got a keylogger from a bad AddOn, Skype link, etc. The list goes on... but ultimately it is your responsibility. Sorry to hear you lost 1000 gold, that definitely calls for a bad day especially during the Holidays. Best of luck. -
Yes that's true, stuff does die quick from a couple hits with ambush/backstab but then your also dealing with stealth/slowing between kills, having to use extra energy just to backstab and daggers are hard to come by when leveling in addition. It just seems to make more sense to combat spec your way up, everything dies quick and doesn't rely on RNG crits to be very effective, no stealth spam after every kill, can AoE 2 mobs every 2 minutes etc.

Check out Oto's rogue guide, it's very detailed and will likely teach you a lot of new things. https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=5412&start=0

I'm guessing I know the problem then. After getting the quest you use an item to shoot off two flares than /salute the guy outside the tower to update and grab a new quest. that is likely where your quest is if you abandoned it. How to get that quest item to shoot off the flares I'm not sure, you'll probably just need another rogue who is on the quest to make the NPC flag friendly to get the quest back, or use the whistle thing you get. Good luck.

Note: This idea would only apply to already current rules... all your doing is expanding the amount of GM's essentially without them being GM's, quit taking things out of context or literally, we don't need the tears here. Figured I would make this suggestion. Seeing how the GM's likely can't handle the mass amount of players I figured I would suggest that they do something similar to RuneScape and recruit some trustworthy Moderators who would have an ability to mute an account until it could be reviewed by a GM. I really get sick of the amazing amount of toddlers in the starting areas being racist, sexist, and just plain rude to players. Would be great if there were some players with good judgement who could step in temporarily until a GM could review the situation at a later time. Might not be like Blizzard, but at least it's a common sense solution that really doesn't take anything away from the core aspects of the game as no one would know who is a moderator, who muted them etc. Essentially how it would work, certain accounts would have a right click -> mute option which you would have to "confirm" and last for 24 hours, once done it should capture the last 60 seconds of chat so the GM can see why they were muted and decide wither or not time was served by time a GM reviewed it or they should be muted longer/banned. Not sure if it's an easy thing to implement or monitor but I know it would be really nice to get rid of the racist, sexist idiots swamping the starting zones/barrens, even the Gold Farmer messages

Pre-Raid BiS For Rogues on Elysium PvP (patch 1.2)
Ghostly replied to Twilight Sparkle's topic in Rogue
Those times you relied on the skilled RNG stun to proc on a resto druid so you could kill them in Arena... @Knife, the mask has 2% hit and 1% crit, 12 stam eye of rent has 7 stam, 13 str, and 2% crit. -
Combat Swords is clearly the better choice for leveling. You receive 5% hit chance from talent, swords are easier to come by than daggers, you'll want to use a +1-5 damage enchant on your main hand to buff your sinister strike, don't bother with an off-hand enchant since 15 agility is so expensive and not really worth it for leveling unless you have tons of money. You could always put a cheaper option like fiery weapon on your off-hand. Subtlety is more of a PvP spec, it has lots of cooldowns and control but the damage is weak compared to Combat. Assassination I'm guessing is decent but it also lacks cooldowns and probably isn't as good as Swords although I've never tested the difference. One thing with poisons is the lack of spell hit, so you'll likely resist/lose out on your talent point gains on higher level mobs where combat is mostly damage from white hits and you get some hit rating from the talents. Good luck.

Well sure, but to make any significant money your channel would have to become big and by doing so you'll quickly become noticed, so it seems you're just wasting a lot of time uploading and everything. About every 100k views is $100 in advertising roughly. -
How to clean up the toxic community
Ghostly replied to Ghostly's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Correction, I don't care about the word Toxic... perhaps it was a very poor choice of word to put in the title. I was referring to the racist as toxic however... something that is already against the rules. It only seems to be you that cares about the word Toxic. Yep I did, and if you ever want to debate me on your terrible views on the world let me know, i'll grab my tear mug. Edit: No worries I've requested to change the title and remove the word "Toxic", it appears to be a very sensitive word for some people. -
How to clean up the toxic community
Ghostly replied to Ghostly's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Shayss, this really has nothing to do with a thicker skin, I already have one otherwise my guess is I would have quit playing on day one. I know that many players would quit playing however if racist players are ignored. Thanks for the highly intelligent and constructive post, your future is bright. Torrenz, no just a vague term and reason I said Racism, Sexism specifically, things you would usually get perm banned for on many other games and are already against the rules here. Numerous times I've seen people spamming chat with the N word with low levels and many are complaining but there is nothing anyone can do about it. In no way was suggesting an over-enforcement of chat as some small minded people here with nothing good to say are probably assuming unless they actually are okay with racist to run down the game they enjoy playing and just expect people to "ignore it aka thicker skin". It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to explain the difference between how many people will enjoy the game that isn't full of scum compared to the one that is. GoForTheMoon, the line is already drawn, it's in the Elysium official rules but lacks a reponse or timely response. You have 15,000 players online at the same time and a handful of GM's, clearly right now for instance they have more important things to do. Forexal, I have super ignore but I'm the last person to ever ignore players, in fact people tend to ignore me if anything. The ignore list is not an appropriate solution, you're just saying it's okay to be a racist in game if the main solution is to just use the ignore list. Anyone who actually cares about the overall private server community should probably care wither 1 small minded person is worth keeping around over many who would probably quit playing if they had to deal with it on a regular basis. Well that's why GM's would have to use their judgement just like they did when picking GM's and get people who don't power trip and will only take care of the very serious matters or gold spam for instance. Again though, we're talking about rules of the Elysium server that are just not being handled right away, so I don't see how that has any relevance. Ironsides, Yeah because that makes sense... wanting a faster response time to getting rid of major rule breakers = safe place. Perhaps it's the crybabies coming to this thread with their highly intelligent and constructive post that are spending too much time in their safe places with their coloring books, therapy dogs and juice boxes? I mean if these people had something useful to say I would assume they spent more time in college than their safe places where they missed out on an opportunity to learn something. Aklol, Dalistar okay? -

Yeah people do this for views/money, why these brain dead people even bothers beats me... just need to be reported and they'll get shut down, all they are doing is taking views away from others. -
