A Frank Address And Statement on Recent Events and Revelations

What I found interesting from Alexensual's reddit thread is what was said about Whitekidney. Alexensual claims Whitekidney has been in the picture all along. Pottu confirmed that Whitekidney works with Elysium and is solely helping them out with "webserver stuff": If Whitekidney's role is of as low importance as Pottu makes it sound then why bother having to do with such a nasty figure to begin with? He's a long-standing member, with over 1,000 posts, of Ownedcore, a community of cheaters. From his activity there we know he's been selling gold and powerleveling and releasing hacking and botting tools such as an anti-AFK and a gathering bot. (Goldselling: http://i.imgur.com/fPwUcEH.png, powerleveling: http://i.imgur.com/nbS8lnw.png,anti-AFK bot: http://i.imgur.com/DKlXnal.png, gathering bot: http://i.imgur.com/BI5RaFk.png, trading exploits and confirming a dupe (16 March 2015): http://archive.is/8ASQf) Ironically, Pottu himself has moderated Whitekidney's posts over at the Nostalrius forums for lying, insulting and spamming (i.imgur.com/NWthntN.png). There's also a thread by Whitekidney at the Nostalrius forums where he explains why he lost the leveling race to 60. He slanders the righftul race winner with utter and complete fabricated lies: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3122 Additionally Radeghost has been in contact with Whitekidney to alter .mpq files in 2015: http://imgur.com/qhtLnRb With all this into account Whitekidney should be unqualified a thousandfold. Yet here he is, requested to stay by the Elysium staff, despite revelations: It could be that Nostalrius was involved in moneyhoarding donations and, or, selling gold. That would explain why the core staff that revealed themselves in a meeting with Blizzard chose to leave the project. They were pressurized by other staff members, who were still anonymous, to start the project up again within Elysium. First when Elysium was set up and running were they allowed to leave the scenery. Why else would they leave by calling us pirates? They wanted to be forgotten by shifting all focus unto Elysium. Also, Elysium asking for donations is kind of mind-boggling. Remember when they asked for money on 13 December? The next day they reported they had been donated to probably more than $2,700! (13 December Financial Report: http://i.imgur.com/SspSuDH.png and the update: http://i.imgur.com/VONoK5c.png) Then they reopened donations on 10 January. Despite this they still started crying for money on 1 February. This is the reason why I've been asking them to provide us with evidence on how they're handling donations. As for now I'm fearing what happened with Scapegaming is happening here. It turned out Scapegaming had hoarded more than $3 million in a PayPal account: http://www.geek.com/games/blizzard-wins-88-million-from-scapegaming-over-illegal-wow-servers-1277800/ -

It doesn't sound like you have it much better if you can't even afford a donation. -
Again, are you going to provide us with evidence how you're handling donated money? Or could it be that you're hoarding the money? That was the case with private servers hosted by Scapegaming, where it turned out they had more than $3 million in a PayPal account: http://www.geek.com/games/blizzard-wins-88-million-from-scapegaming-over-illegal-wow-servers-1277800/

It doesn't? After everything that has happened since it was unveiled these shady figures operated within Crestfall, it's beyond doubt it has affected Elysium deeply. Had Elysium clarified for us from the beginning how they reason about a goldseller, a bot creator, etc, working for Crestfall then this wouldn't be the issue it now is. You could take the guy that hacked into Elysium and got hired as a good example. They were open with it from the beginning and it didn't get near as much as attention as this. -

If you start a Legacy Gaming Network with Crestfall you're allying with whoever is within their team. These shady figures happened to be within Crestfall. This is why your judgment is being questioned. You're also excusing their past by telling us we're not spotless either. With an argument as lame as that, criticism is to be expected. -

You could've easily refrained from even mentioning Alexensual. Yet you adress him in 5 sections, labeling him as a thief and an obstruction for the project. This means you've become your own nightmare. You're now officially witchhunters. You tried to sneak them in without us taking notice. It backfired and it understandably shrinks your credibility. I've asked for you to be transparent regarding both staff and donations. Right now it's as if you're wearing a niqab. However, I think you abandoned your standpoint on witchhunting in order to draw attention away from the shady business with Zzuk and Radeghost. There are possibly more aswell. These 2 were just the ones that got caught. -
I messaged you 8 days ago. No reply.
 -
You and the contributors donating through the hidden donation link were together paying 900€. The expenses are now 1,500€ and that means you need roughly 600€ from the community. Considering all donations since 13 december you shouldn't be asking to be fed for a long time. Will you provide us with evidence how you've handled the money?
 -
A good analysis by Alexensual. We need more critical thinking over what's going on. Remember that it was a huge committment by Nostalrius when providing Elysium with their data. After 2 months they retracted their support. However, a lot of Nostalrius' staff which transferred to Elysium remained. So what happened? We know for sure Nostalrius' explanation doesn't add up. Could there be money involved and those transferring to Elysium don't want to miss out on it?

Why the population is decreasing so fast?
Wirt replied to Fivp's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I was in queue to Elysium PvP the day Zeth'Kur's released (13 January) and it was around 5500-7000 at peak time. From what I recall Zeth'Kur had a population of around 4500 to 5500 at that time. It doesn't seem as if Zeth'Kur got much bigger than that. I think people just vanished. Maybe they gave up after the downtime and the following announcement. Or they couldn't handle questing which can get very tedious, specially in the Barrens. -
I think your servers are great and it's absolutely fantastic if, with this announcement, you're taking an extra step into being more reachable towards the community. Do you find it unreasonable though, that people worry about the project after everything that has taken place? After all, Nostalrius got brought down unexpectedly. You were also severely hacked which resulted in an extremely serious unauthorized GM access. Population has dramatically diminished as the now non-existent queue on Elysium PvP attests for. Several staff members of high importance have quit the project following the turbulence with Nostalrius. People also seem to be worried about certain staff members. There's a thread about Pottu and Fenrir concerning their absence and Pottu's deleted reddit account. How many former Nostalrius staff members joined Elysium and how many are still within your ranks? I understand that you're all busy working on the project and can't be available at all times. But now that you've got over 100 applicants to the project, why not recruit a few so we can be heard?
 -
You're right. What I'm asking is if it's still perceived as racist if a black uses the word rather than a white. After all, blacks seem to be the most keen on using it. At the same time people mostly perceive those using the word over the internet as whites. Obviously it also comes down to in which context it's used.
 -
Would it be racist if it turns out he's black?
 -
What I get out is that Elysium was initially a warm and fuzzy tight-knit community and with the opening of the new servers it turned into this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRXP5td0ZrA&t=3m17s So you sacrificed a lot of time and money and what you got in return was hatred and ingratitude from the community. But the daggers in the dark? Did a rogue percecute your in-game character or what happened? Regardless, thank you for your time.
 -
Is it really so? It stands between 70+ hours a week and absolutely nothing? You're obviously leaving something out from us. You should understand that you're tearing your own credibility down with this exile of high rank staff members following Nostalrius' announcement. Showcasing for us all that you've just hired one of the hackers involved in the recent havoc wasn't the best publicity either. A good start for you to build up your credibility for us skeptics would be to answer our questions regarding your announcements. So far not a single one has been answered in any of these threads. I thank you for your devotion.

This plague of critters migrates through boats from Teldrassil. I'd suggest putting thief catchers Farmountain, Shadowdelve and Thunderbrew on duty. If only Garithos was still around... -
So first you tell us these hackers had no intentions to harm. Yet harm was done the very second they started creating gold, übercharacters and so on. Also you confirm yourselves you were wrong 2 days later: My questions to you are: From what you know, has any hacker had access since the 17 January? Who is Auya? Was he in the group of hackers that created gold, übercharacters and so on? You told us these individuals had no intention of harm and that turned out to be false. Why can Auya be trusted if he was within this group?

Wirt replied to nerdz's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Generally, when I've grouped up with more experienced players, we've all been rolling need on BoE blues. That's even though the item would be an upgrade for someone in the group. I've thought it to be an unwritten rule as to protect the group from a potential ninjaloot. It's not uncommon to have someone refusing to equip their won BoE blue item when they're planning on selling it at the AH. I always wait for everyone else to roll before I do. This gives time for either discussion or for me to spot a ninjalooter. Ninjalooters use to wait for unexperienced players to roll greed on these items. Thus they can roll need and get their hands on it, claiming that's how the system works. However, if you're honest, you'd definitely not roll need after everyone else rolling greed. You want everyone to have an equal chance at getting the item. -

Wirt replied to blooper's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I've received many death and harm threats througout my gaming years. I've listened to and read the most obscene things one can possibly think of. If I was to take it all seriously I wouldn't be doing much else besides reporting and being a scared little man. You should realise that the gaming world is a different world entirely. People rarely mean what they say here. It's only when people stop reacting to this obscenity they will cease with their immature behavior. -
What you're saying about VPN connections makes a lot of sense. Any idea why they didn't prevent this? They should've handled the request somewhere I'd assume. Also I kind of like the thread title, "Addressing Recent Concerns about Created Characters". "Recent Concerns"... It's as if it has only concerned us, the ones talking about it at the forums.
 -
This is laughable. Those who were reported falsely were quickly debunked by other members. You've been removing threads instead of locking them with a reasonable explanation. And now you're threatening to remove any further posts linking to boosted characters. You want it to investigated by you only and in the dark for the rest of us. Why? Do you have anything to do within the business of selling boosted characters?

Can the devs explain this reddit post?
Wirt replied to Iolx's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It could be related to the severe hacking Elysium is currently being victim of. A lot of reports and evidence has been reported for this and Elysium seems to be deleting threads regarding this issue. -

Yes, Nostalrius could very well be shutting down the road for vanilla servers altogether. I wouldn't be so sure on that Elysium didn't have a say on this. After all there's a leaked letter, total submission and a disrespectful refusal to condone Nostalrius' actions towards us. -

Wirt replied to Shenna's topic in Official Information
I'm not sure what you're trying to say. I said Blizzard ruined WoW and you come up with this. I agree that Blizzard is very successful at attracting hordes of players from all corners. It strayed away from the more niché kind of company it once was. The evolution (degeneration) from Diablo 1 to Diablo 2 to Diablo 3 and the evolution within World of Warcraft speak for themselves. In their announcement Nostalrius is basically saying they want Elysium to shut down their servers: "The following values that have always been at the heart of any of our actions: Achieving official Blizzard Legacy servers" , "Contrary to our expectations, our decision to release our source code and character database to Elysium actually made our 2 goals harder to achieve" , "We ask Elysium to join this effort for Legacy realms by stopping to use data that we provided." and "Nostalrius community is no longer about private servers, it is about official legacy realms." Based on this, if you can't judge that they did a bad job, how can you judge they did a good job so far?
