By trying them out to, like, level 20 and see if they enjoy playing the class. If they all feel the same to you then just pick whatever.

Some fight require more range dps, while others prefer more melee. For example, in AQ40 there is a boss that can requires a lot of frost damage. In this fight, frost mages are prefered over shadow priests.

That varies on the encounter.

This require a lot of administrative work. The code is open source atm so anyone can find out what quests are available (and therefore also wich aren't). Feel free to start a project that makes this information more available

Back in the day doing deadmines at lvl 18 would take you 2 hours. But as level 20 it only takes 1 hour due to less resist/misses. That 1 hour difference can be used to actually get level 20. So doing DM at lvl 18 is absurd and a waste of time

Yes, thats a lot of damage. But a rogue or warrior does that dmg in almost half the time.
