There have been folks hacked that do use 2FA. It is important that you do not use the same password for your game account and google account.

Please make sure that the password you use for your game account is different than the password you use for your email account. If they are the same the attacker can just log into your email and remove your 2FA.

What is your XP level? You have to be XP level 10 to train Journeyman professions.

I do not personally like non-consensual open-world PvP, so I play Darrowshire. Some people like non-consensual PvP. It's all about choice.

@zlavka If your account is disabled, you don't know why, and you think this is in error, then yes I would make a post in the ban appeals forum. At the very least they can help you understand why the account is disabled. It is quite possible that the account was compromised and used in gold selling activities. I don't think they unban hacked accounts, but at least you can figure out what happened and why.

Outlook, Gmail, and CNN are for-profit, multi-million-dollar industries on their own. Elysium is a community-funded volunteer effort. There's a big difference. Have you noticed better uptime with the population cap?

Are you serious? 98% uptime for a free service is unacceptable? As to why there are constant DDoS attacks on Elysium, this is pretty normal for MMO private servers. It happens in the UO community as well. It even happens with popular Minecraft servers. Other, less popular server owners think they will gain population by DDoS'ing their competitors. And truth be told they do get a slight bump in population when they do this. That's why they continue to do it. But if you leave the popular server for a less popular one all that happens is that server gets popular and starts getting DDoS'ed. Just learn to live with it. And give the Elysium staff some time to learn how to run this massive project. It takes time, and they are making good progress.

In your post you said you put the files in "Program Files\Interface\AddOns". This is the wrong location. It should be under a directory called "Interface" next to your "WoW.exe" file. For example, if you installed to "Program Files\World of Warcraft", then place the files at "Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns". You'll know it's the correct directory because there will be the Blizzard addons already in the directory, like so:

Rested XP bonus was not a retail launch feature. It was added in after a few months as a way to shrink the gap between the try-hards and the filthy casuals. If you're that hard-core that you don't want rest XP then damn man. I mean, just damn. You do you :)

I think the idea that griefing is era-accurate and therefore acceptable is bogus. I think we should do what we can - without altering game mechanics - to prevent griefing and improve player experiance. But I'm not staff, so my opinion does not matter much :)

I really like this UI, but it would be nice if we could use our own custom fonts. Sorry, that came out wrong. I REALLY like the UI! Great work! Edit: Not a bit trouble. I just replaced one of the default fonts with mine and it works fine.

I do not know the name of that particular font, but I'm sure you can find one you like here: https://www.fontsquirrel.com/ All fonts are free-as-in-beer and free-as-in-speech. Not all are in TTF format though. After thinking about the blocklist / blacklist idea I don't think this would help against DDoS attacks. Most DDoS's use SYN floods or other lower-level network attacks. Implementing an IP blocklist within the game server would do very little to stop this. However a hardware firewall to reject traffic from known dubious origins might help, although I'm pretty sure that is already included in OVH's DDoS protection package.

In Saturday's Town Hall meeting we were encouraged to volunteer for QA and GM staff positions. However the "Join the Team" forum lists the QA signup as "Closed" and there is no information about applying for a GM position.

Totally agree with the above post. I am a member of many Discord servers so I have it up anyway. I get my Elysium news from their Discord. I also find the server-specific channels useful from time-to-time.
